Well since covid hit in 2020 theyâve gone down hill. My wife and I bought boots and I bought belts, buckles, a shirt and a vest for our wedding 10.5 years ago and they were great. Of the last three times Iâve been there theyâve been closed once and the other two times the guy working seemed very incapable of customer service skills yet he was the same guy who helped my wife and I 10.5 years ago.
The 3rd and final time I will step foot in this store I went in on 11/15/23 to see in if they were able to punch three holes in a belt I bought for my son at the Clarkston store (since they didnât have any kids belts at rochester) and at first is seemed like it was gonna happen, well I was asked by the same guy where I got the belt and I told him the Clarkston store. He then told me he wasnât able to do punch the holes since I didnât buy it at their store and that he could get in trouble. Said the owners are watching and that he doesnât want to be involved. I turned to leave as was yelled at for carrying my pistol (w/ valid CPL) in the store and that thereâs a sign so itâs illegal to carry and that the owners have direct contact with the police.
Overall very argumentative staff I will not recommend this location to anyone. If you want to shop an Arizona Saddlery store go to Birmingham or Clarkston(Steve is top notch)
And itâs 2023 covid paranoia is dead lose the mask and...
Read moreMy fiancÊ and I decided to go to Arizona Saddlery to get a good idea of the type of cowgirl boots I would want for Christmas. He has a pair of boots from there - a gift last year - but he had to exchange for a different size and the woman was very helpful then. Naturally he thought we would have the same experience.
While we looked through the women's boots near the door, the male associate told us the bigger sizes were in the back of the store in a snarky tone. We moved to the back and I started trying some on. He hovered around us the entire time, constantly checking up on us. We were only relieved when some teenaged girls came in and quickly decided to drop some cash on a pair of boots. Once they left, he snapped at us about the supposed manner in which we were putting boots back on shelf.
He said we were being rough and scratching the boots and he would rather we leave them on the ground so he could do that. No, your boots were plenty beat up before we ever got here. My fiancĂŠ respects and appreciates fine leather products and was taking great care to place each pair where they belonged instead of leaving a pile of boots on the floor. We apologized anyways, and he muttered something under his breath about annoying kids coming into the store (we're both 22). We immediately left, after walking past the nice lady my fiancĂŠ dealt with last year.
We were prepared to purchase boots through the store, even if they were marked up quite a bit. This incident, combined with the mark-up and general poor condition of a lot of the boots, means we will never come back, whether to try boots on or purchase them. I would caution you against this place, or at least dealing with...
Read moreTerrible service! We stopped in to the Saddlery because we'd had a very positive experience there a year or so back. What a difference that year made, not in a good way! Staff was unknowlegable and very rude! My husband was trying on a pair of Durango boots and asked the clerk (he doesn't deserve to be called a salesman due to his ineptitude at his job) for a boot sleeve (basically a shoe horn specific for cowboy boots). The clerk had no clue what it was and tried to give him a boot jack (which is to take the boots off). When we commented about the lack of knowledge of the staff we were accosted by a large, mean looking Arab man who became hostile, sarcastic and demeaning towards us. He stated he "didn't know what" a boot sleeve was and "didn't care if the salesman didn't give it to me." We began to exit the store, but my husband had to stop to tie up his shoe and the Arab man kept walking right up in my husband's face and making aggressive comments trying to get my husband to start a fight. We took the higher road and left, however we own our own shoe store so we know that there is no competition here! Based on the other reviews, we aren't the first customers this business lost due to their terrible choices in employees. I'm amazed that the management would allow him to continue to kill what used to be a great store. I guess nothing says western wear to the owners of the Saddlery like a a 6 foot plus Arab who knows nothing about the business and threatens their customers for no reason. Maybe he thought he was being hired as a bouncer and not sales! Saddlery ownership please make changes before your business is ruined...
