This could easily be the best coffee shop around... great coffee, a beautiful space, and usually a warm atmosphere. But there's one ongoing issue that consistently ruins the experience: the volume of the live music. The musicians are talented and the music itself is enjoyable, but the sound is blaring. There's a huge speaker placed in the middle of the shop that turns the entire place into what feels more like a bar than a café. Ironically, it’s actually quieter near the stage than it is halfway through the shop. Coffee shops should be a place to read, journal, relax, or have a conversation with a friend. But that’s nearly impossible here when the music is so loud you have to yell to be heard. I’m literally raising my voice just to record this. Please consider turning the volume down so the space can live up to its potential. You’ve got something great here, it just needs to be heard at the right level. Maybe get rid of the speaker. Because people that are sitting away from the singer would like to have it be a little quieter. Notice that nobody is sitting by the speaker.

This place is amazing and their cheesecakes give The Cheesecake Factory for their money. For the price, the quality is unbeatable. My favorite is the Banana Nutella. It's way classier than Nutella! It's this rich dark chocolate-hazelnut-banana flavor that comes through. I've also tried their chocolate pecan and baklava flavors. So rich and sinfully scrumptious. Their dark chocolate mocha is my go-to drink. The ambience is quiet and cheerful at the same time. The restroom is spotless. I ran into Jamal Hammoud, one of the owners, without knowing who he was. He graciously offered to help with our twins' double stroller but there was no spot for us in the cafe on that busy Sunday. Looking back at that interaction, I can tell how they win people's hearts with their earnestly. And it shines through in their food offerings. Hands down to the best coffee and cheesecake in all of Michigan!

Desert Oasis is one of my favorite spots in Rochester Hills—every visit is a treat! I recently had their Matcha Latte and the Sencha Green Tea, both of which were smooth and refreshing. Their drinks are consistently great, and I’m a big fan of their lattes overall. Now, the real star for me is always the cheesecake. I tried both the Classic Cheesecake and the Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake, and while both were delicious, the Classic truly stood out—phenomenal texture and flavor. I honestly keep coming back just for their cheesecakes. They’ve mastered the art, and you can tell they put real care into what they serve. Highly recommend this place if you’re into quality desserts and cozy drinks. It’s a gem.

I am writing this review due to the negligence of upper-level staff. My girlfriend and I were walking on Main Street looking for a good coffee spot when we stumbled upon this charming coffee shop. The atmosphere was inviting, the people were friendly, and it was dog-friendly with a visually pleasing aesthetic.

However, I have a nut allergy, and I always ensure to avoid nuts to prevent an allergic reaction. When I ordered my coffee and chocolate croissant, I specifically asked the person taking my order if there were any nuts in my items. She responded, "I don't believe so, but let me double-check." She consulted with another coworker, and although they seemed unsure, they assured me that everything I ordered was nut-free with zero cross-contamination. Once my order was ready, I reiterated my concerns about nut products, and they again assured me there were no nuts present.

Unfortunately, after taking a sip of my coffee and a bite of my croissant, I experienced an immediate allergic reaction. I quickly left the coffee shop to avoid making a scene and managed to get home to nurse a pretty severe reaction. Thankfully, I was okay and recovered by the next day.

My issue is not with the lower-level staff, who were unsure about the ingredients, but with upper-level management's negligence in considering potential allergens and failing to train their staff to know these crucial details. As someone who could go into anaphylactic shock, I could have had a much more severe reaction. Someone else might have an even worse outcome due to this oversight.

If you don't have any allergies, this is a great place to get coffee. However, if you do have allergies, I would recommend finding...

As someone who has been a loyal customer for years, I've frequently visited with my children to enjoy hot chocolate and cheesecake. However, today's experience was overshadowed by a rude and pushy staff member. Just as we stood up from our table to retrieve our jackets, she abruptly ordered us to clean our table, which we always do and had not even stepped away yet. When we did start to walk out we had to quickly manuever ourselves out of her way despite not having much room to do so with the tables. The café wasn't busy, and no customers waiting for a table, so her disrespectful tone and shocking disregard for customer service was unnecessary. Disappointingly the atmosphere didn't match the relaxing coffee shop environment I've come to appreciate over the years. I swiftly guided my family out as I didn’t want to cause her anymore more inconvenience and a reason to scold us again. After leaving I reached out to a friend who gets her coffee from there daily to ask if she was familiar with the employee, not surprisingly she knew exactly who I was speaking of as she had a similar experience with her the day before. I am really disappointed as I have always had great customer service with the staff during previous visits, but this one was not the same. Unfortunately I will need to reconsider taking my family here...

The place has gone down sadly. And like the old Greek saying, when a fish rots it rots from the head, the management is a big part of the problem.

The drinks are lukewarm. If you don't drink your coffee within five minutes it'll be tepid.

There seems to be a problem with the heating, since there is very little ventilation and added to that the bathrooms are gross.

The desserts are stale. I once ordered a chocolate dessert that tasted like it was weeks old.

Added to that, I was sitting at a table for four and the owner came up to me and said, he wanted his friends to sit at that table since they were a group of four and asked me to leave that table.

Note: The owner completely lied in his response.

We sat on that table for several minutes until in essence he told us to leave the table and move to a table that was broken. Also, he appeared to be hobnobbing with those people and insisted that their table was reserved--perhaps I'm ignorant of the ways of the world, but I've never been to a coffee shop that takes reservations for tables.

We are not ashamed of leaving after being treated poorly. I’ve asked other people and they feel the management lacks basic communication and customer skills, which are apparent from the...
