I would like to thank Home Bakery for being one of the best bakeries I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I am from N.Y. and called the home bakery to help deliver a bereavement platter to a dear friend in Michigan. I called and explained that I have never been to the bakery, and wanted to send something to a friend to cheer her up. A lovely young women named Mary helped me. She was one of the nicest people I have ever spoken to in my life. She was so sweet so kind so genuine. Home Bakery didn’t have to help me with such a task, but from the start they assured me they would do their best to help. Mary helped me work out a lovely mixture and did everything to help me. She said “she wanted to make it easy on me”, and she did. She helped me every step of the way. She was so nice I wanted to move to Michigan after working with her. Home bakery put together the most delightful platter. My friend received the package in the exact time they said they would in perfect condition. My friend said “the bear claw was the best she ever had in her life”. The treats got rave reviews. This was beyond 5 star service. This bakery truly showed me that a company can be thoughtful, carling and truly genuine. Also not to mention delish. I am so thankful that I called Home Bakery. I wish I lived in Michigan I would be there #1 customer. My friends and I will always be thankful for them, in time of need, they came though BIG time. Highly disappointed in the customer service I received at The Home Bakery. I placed an order for Christmas Eve and verified their hours online. Upon arrival, the bakery was closed. I emailed and called immediately and no one responded resulting in no dessert for my holiday party. Additionally, there wasn’t a courtesy call given which I find odd, especially on a prepaid holiday order. Even the confirmation email did not have hours listed.

The extremely rude manager called me 3 days later to tell me their cancellation policy. I reiterated that I did not cancel and their lack of communication and transparency on hours is the reason the order was not fulfilled. The email confirmation and online hours were not accurate and it was not posted anywhere on their building.

The Home Bakery is not reliable, flexible or empathetic. Instead of trying to resolve the issue they offered for me to pick up 5 day old bakery items, cleary not caring about the quality as a first time customer.

I recommend going elsewhere. I am all for supporting small businesses and there are way better options that care about their customers.

We worked with Heather to design our wedding cake and she was absolutely amazing. She was very patient in understanding our designs and explained to us all the different options we had for flavors. The cake itself was delicious - very moist and flavorful! It was absolutely beautiful and turned out exactly how we discussed. We also rented a cake stand from them, which gave the display a little something extra. It was all beautiful! I also ordered a groom’s cake from them as a surprise for my now husband and we had it at the rehearsal dinner. Since I was from out of town, I couldn’t secretly meet with Heather so I called her and sent her photos to explain my design. It turned out better than I imagined! My only issue was when I picked it up, some of the fondant design on the sides of the cake came off and was attached to the box. We were able to easily put it back on and I take full responsibility for that since I didn’t want to pay to have them deliver it.
