First thing, it took over 5 minutes after arriving just to be acknowledged that we were standing at their front doorway. The hostess was serving double duty taking food out to customers and did not even make eye contact with us. When she finally spoke to us, she was going to have us write our names on a scrap of paper for a waiting list. I saw an open booth and asked why we couldn't sit there, and she said "Oh, ok." Then, the waitress knew very little about the food and drinks on the menu. She had to keep running to ask someone else in order to answer our questions. Once we ordered our food, it took OVER AN HOUR to get it, and it was just my wife and I. By the way, I ordered Winthrop's Special, and the menu description says "choice of steak and chicken or shrimp AND shrimp with broccoli and mushrooms"...that means THREE MEATS!! I explained that to the server, but instead of getting a manager to address the issue, she blew it off as "Well, you know what they meant to say." When our food finally arrived, we had no eating utensils. When we asked for some, she brought us PLASTIC ones! For a meal costing $50!! I usually break plastic forks, so I requested silverware. Alas, we had NO NAPKINS. When we asked for those, she brought us the kind you get out of a bathroom dispenser. Finally, my wife ordered a drink since I was still eating, but by the time I finished she never received it. We got our bill and the server suddenly remembered her drink, but my wife said "Don't bother." Upon paying, we were told that we weren't charged for the drink that we didn't get....
Read moreOrdered Chori Pollo with a Dos Equis to drink and my fiance ordered the Carne Asada fries with a large margarita. There wasn't much chorizo on the chicken and the chicken was VERY flat. The chips before the meal were good but the salsa was lacking any heat or flavor. When we got our food it was nice and hot, but again lacking some flavor as well as tortillas I'm used to getting with that meal. Coming from a Mexican family I just expected the meal not to be as bland as it was. After the meal we finished our drinks and ordered fried ice cream to go. After placing the to go dessert order we waited for what felt like an eternity (realistically it was probably closer to thirty minutes). It was so long this was the first time I actually considered just getting up and walking out because our waiter had disappeared and didn't show signs of ever returning. I honestly thought "are they making the ice cream from scratch? What's taking so long?". Finally the waiter returned and dropped off the dessert and check and walked away yet again before we could give our payment. So we waited another ten to fifteen minutes for him to return and pick up our payment. Had the service been better and the kitchen been quicker I'd probably give a better rating. I'll give them another chance perhaps after some time to give them time to get their footing and grow as they are a...
Read moreIt was our first time here. We don't typically eat Mexican food, but we had a craving, and my wife heard this place was good. We were immediately greeted upon entering and we're given a booth. It wasn't overly busy for 5pm on a Saturday but steady. The menu is packed with choices and neatly sorted with tabs to help find what you're looking for. Like I said, we aren't Mexican foodies, so we're not that familiar with the names of dishes. So this menu helped a lot! The host brought us chips and salsa. We both preferred the spicy salsa over the mild. We ordered some drinks. Wife had the jalapeno cucumber margarita which she liked a lot. We went with the mixed fajitas for 2. The food was plentiful; in fact, we had to get a takeout box to bring the rest home. During the meal, we were checked on by 3 different, but very friendly, people to ensure we were satisfied with the meal. We were and had no complaints to share with them. We did think the fajita steak and chicken was bland and could have used some seasoning, but that was just our opinion (This is our only reason for not giving them five stars). As we were walking out of the restaurant, several large groups were waiting to enter. I imagine this place gets decent business. Overall, we had a very good experience and would recommend this restaurant to anyone with a Mexican...
