Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar — Restaurant in Rock Hill

Should have went to Krispy Kreme next door. This was my first time at Pulp Juice and I wanted to try it out because I'm kind of health-conscious. When I got in I noticed that there was a smell of rotting fruit. It took about 2 minutes before anyone acknowledge that I was standing there waiting. Once greeted, I told the lady at the counter that this was my first time and wanted to know what were some popular menu choices. I ordered the acai bowl. At first glance it looked like a bowl of purple mush but I was still willing to try it. When I got to my car to taste the sample before I got on the road, Oh my gosh she gave me blueberries that were frozen hard as rocks. I took it back in to see if I can get something else like a smoothie she told me that she could just take the blueberries off and give me something else. I ordered granola and banana chia., It was barely edible definitely not worth $10. I most likely would not go again and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends or family. I like their wraps, a little heavy on the cheese but overall tasty. Originally stopped by this spot for a smoothie. Disappointment Alert. If you are looking for a dessert in a cup then this is your type of smoothie spot. If you actually think of smoothies as a nutritional means this is not your spot. Almost every combination has sherbert, sorbet, or yogurt... What?! Only milk offered is Soy and Almond and there was a concern for "creaminess" without sherbet, sorbert, or yogurt... What?! I kept wondering about the sugar levels in their combinations as natural fruit is already sweet.

For context, I not only purchase smoothies regularly but also make them with my Vitamix and can assure that ice cream type ingredients are not necessary for a creamy texture. Based on name of place, I may have set my expectations too high. I was really disappointed as someone who consumes smoothies for health and not to just 'feel like' I did something healthy.

My experience was okay at first. I went yesterday 3/11. My boyfriend and I ordered the asian wrap, the honey mustard wrap, guava burn, blueberry dream, and a wheatgrass shot with no chaser. They gave us everything except the wheatgrass shot. I called today 3/12 to tell them i didnt get my wheatgrass shot and can i just come today, order something and get my wheatgrass shot. One of the workers said no because the people who worked yesterday were not there. I asked if they can look up the transaction log bc every POS system has one, they said no. The wheatgrass shot is only a dollar and some change but we still paid for it and i was willing to go back today and order something new if they were willing to give me my wheatgrass shot we paid for the day before.
