No 1 Kitchen — Restaurant in Rock Hill

Today was a beautiful day to drive to SC for cheaper gas and to visit a Target in the area. Started to get hungry and Chinese food popped in my mind so I Google what was nearby and No. 1 Kitchen appeared. Read the reviews 👍 then I seen one comment that mentioned shrimp egg fu young and pepper steak. I'm from MD (PG County to be exact) and those two dishes are my staples from a "carryout". Took food home, was surprised of the portions "alot", and shared with my son. We both were very pleased with the familiar taste of up North. The pepper steak was very tender and seasoned properly, egg fu young taste fresh and cooked perfectly (not overly fried and greasy) and the gravy looked and tasted just like how I remembered from MD. I currently live in zipcode 28277, I will continue to take that 27 minute ride to Rock Hill just to get my authentic Chinese carryout items. Keep using the same quality ingredients and keeping the prices reasonable, you'll win every time and stay in buisness a long time! I called my order in and it was repeated back to me correctly. I waited in line and noted the cashier was less than friendly to 2 of the 3 customers in front of me. Also noted he was rude to a customer on the phone. I checked my order before leaving and there was one egg roll missing. When I pointed out to the cashier he said that the special on the wall did not come with an egg roll. However I did not order the special on the wall. I ordered a #C27 that comes with an egg roll. Instead of correcting the error or even apologizing, he said well I gave you the wall combination. It is $1.74 if you want an egg roll. If you acknowledge you did not give me what I ordered, its your mistake. At least an I'm sorry, it was my error... Something to acknowledge your mistake. Advice to #1 Kitchen, while the food was good, customers do not just want good food. Good customer service is expected too. Some employees may need to work back in the kitchen if they do not like dealing with customers...

This place when first open was good, now it's the worst so called Chinese food in SC, their shrimp fried rice is AWFUL has no ingredients normally found in Chinese rice except uncooked large chunks of onions and 5 or 6 tiny shrimp straight out the grocery store bag the rice is hard (uncooked) and freaking ORANGE, their children wings are old dried out and BLACK on the inside not even sure if it's really chicken, worse tasting egg rolls I've ever tasted nothing in them tiny but a slight bit of Orange shredded cabbage, the ribs have a peculiar taste and filled with some sorts of red dye that gets all over your hands THEY ARE AWFUL AND GETTING WORSE the best thing they have the condiments DUCK SAUCE, HOT MUSTARD AND SOY SAUCE, there should be a petition to shut them down NOTICE THEY THEMSELVES DONT EVEN EAT THAT CRAP THEY COOK IN THAT PLACE, THEY BRING THEIR FOODS IN pay...
