Palmetto Sports Bar — Restaurant in South Carolina

This is an update. This bar has changed significantly. They no longer have a dj with karaoke, which made it a lot more fun and popular and balanced out some of the less likeable things about this bar. The jukebox music is half the time not even music, just loud noise. The service is poor except on the weekend; the weekend bartender is excellent, but during the week, you have to look for the bartender, who is often outside or not behind the bar, but playing pool or socializing with select customers and not paying attention to the needs of anyone else. Also, it is disgusting that a cigarette is hanging out the bartender's mouth while drinks and food are being prepared and served. You can actually see her hand going from cigarette to mouth to jigger, spilling liquor being measured into a glass, and handling garnishes such as lemon and lime slices, never with gloves on. So it does make you wonder what goes on back in the kitchen. Because of that, along with the long time it takes to get ordered food, we no longer eat here (although the food has been okay, but isn't as good as it once was). Half of the tv screens are blank most of the time. The men's restroom is always filthy including wet floor always, and there is no air conditioning or heating in the restrooms, so it's either freezing or suffocating. On the bright side, parking is ample, especially lately. Took our Birthday girl there for karaoke and a had the best bar experience in years! We were greeted and treated as if we were long-time customers and friends. Food was EXCELLENT especially the onion rings and everything was freshly made. Music was mostly country which we love mixed with a little soft rock and a quite a few people did karaoke. My husband Sally and I enjoy everything about this bar. He's on the pool leagues and we've made great friends here. The food is great! The bartenders are great. Terrie goes above and beyond the bar to do community services and advocate for animals. There's not a day that goes by that she's not recruiting foster parents for animals, collecting food, going to shelters etc. She is the HEART of this bar❤!! Glad to call her a...
