Five Guys — Restaurant in Rockaway Township

On March 26th 7:04 pm I placed an order online at this location and usually it states your order will be ready in 7min and your shakes and fries will be made once you arrive. I got to the place at 7:15 and there was only one gentleman in the whole establishment. Of course all the customers including myself figured that the others were coming shortly, they must have gone in the back or attending to other needs that the business required. To our amazement and disbelief no one showed up. This gentleman by the name of Alberto not only took orders , prepared them and handed them to us but was at all times calm and polite and apologetic for the time we waited. Which at a time it was more than 15 people waiting for their order. I placed mine at 7:04 and waited until 7:55 to receive a plain cheeseburger with fries and two milkshakes. Crazy!!! The only reason I stayed was because the way Alberto handled that situation was amazing to see and out of kindness for a person who dedicated himself to every single costumer and got his job done like he owned that place. As for the rest of the employees that night after being there from 7:15 they decided to walk in at 7:50 from the back entrance door of the store giggling and laughing like nothing was wrong, mind you another costumer had seen them outside chatting and joking around. I don't think a place like Five Guys gives 4 other employees breaks to take together at such a busy time. I could be wrong but I know my review is extensive but I really needed to let the manager or owner be aware that he has a great employee that should be mentioned and that is Alberto. The one star is for the other employees because it angers me when people are so disrespectful and inconsiderate to their coworkers. And maybe no one cares or will read this and of course nothing will be done but at least I got to get it out. Your food does get 5 stars! And...

The sweet woman who assisted me today deserves a big raise and tons of kudos!!! Her name is YAIRA and she could not have been kinder or more professional!!! :) Honestly, I can't remember the last time I encountered someone so helpful and courteous. It was my first time at a Five Guys (I know crazy, right??!!) and I'll drive the extra few miles to patronize this location because my experience was that cool!!! The food is delicious and I didn't have to wait long to get my order. Everyone there seemed friendly and I'm really looking forward to more fun and delicious times at this place!! The "Little Burger" is essentially the size of a normal patty at other places so I'm sure the regular sized one is incredible!! The burger will be well done (I prefer medium rare) but I understand that this is standard at such franchises, due to health and safety issues. Employees were wearing masks and gloves and social distancing is enforced. The fries are super fresh and very generously portioned if you order the Little portion- I got an overflowing cup full- and it's great that they have a whiteboard telling you where the potatoes are sourced from daily!!! The fixins are perfect and they've got a good variety of basic add ons. They also have Hebrew National hot dogs and tell you the calories of each item on the menu. Can't wait to go back!!! THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: I BELIEVE I HAVE LOCATED THE BEST FIVE GUYS ON THE PLANET. So I placed my order, got some peanuts and sat down. Noticed that it was taking a little bit longer than usual to hear my number called. Store wasn’t very busy and so I wondered what the holdup might be. A few minutes later, I had my answer. Apparently, the order took so long because the skilled technician assembling this incredibly delicious, massive and perfectly prepared burger took the time to cram as many toppings on to it as they possibly could. YES PLEASE! Honestly, I have never had a Five Guys burger this good. Also, a pro tip for my fellow low-carb dieters who also have difficulty resisting the fries: order a small fry without a ‘topper.’ That is how they refer to the extra (essentially) double order they dump in your bag once the cup is placed inside. Minimizes the carbohydrate damage. Store was otherwise clean and efficient like virtually every other one I’ve been to. But seriously, the amount of toppings on this bad boy really impressed me!...
