My mother, daughter & I dined here recently and unfortunately, I will never come back. My review speaks to the customer service provided by the servers at this establishment.
When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly full with customers of all ages, however, my 3-year-old daughter was treated poorly. My daughter, who is autistic, was watching youtube videos, squealing in excitement. We immediately were asked if we wanted to leave because of noise complaints by other patrons. After I explained to the server, Jerrica, that my daughter is autistic and I was literally doing everything to minimize her squeals, I was repeatedly told that my daughter was making everyone “uncomfortable”. I became frustrated and saddened that my child could make any adult “uncomfortable”. I started crying and told Jerrica that I did not agree with her offering us to leave at the first complaint and using the word “uncomfortable” when discussing a child with autism. Jerrica had no time to talk and repeatedly told me if I wanted to get my food to-go I could and to let her know, but she was too busy to talk and showed me her watch telling me that she had to attend to other customers because the kitchen closed in 30 mins. She said if I had an issue then I could take it up with the manager or owner, who of course, was not on duty. The extreme hurt and the lack of compassion I felt! My daughter was smiling and laughing while all of this occurred, unbeknownst to how “everyone” felt about her. The environment was loud, and including other children who were making noise and crying. But unfortunately we were the only ones who had been offered to leave.
I notified the manager about the server, who talked with the server and identified ways that this could be prevented in the future, and developed policies. I was offered a gift certificate, but unfortunately I will not return....
Read moreHave tried this spot out several times now, after being introduced to it by the outdoor summer dog parties they offered in the warmer months. The food is way better than we were hoping for from a bar, with a wide selection to choose from. The beer menu is fun and has something for everyone. Restrooms have been clean every time I've needed to visit. Positively the least sticky bar bathroom floors I've encountered in the 815.
Only repeated drawback seems to be service, usually seeming to be an understaffing/harried server issue, which we try to be amenable about. On slightly busier nights, we expect a bit of a wait, and have sometimes had to flag down service eventually. Have had to remind a few times when items might not show. It happens, we get it. But this last thing left us scratching our heads.
On the most recent visit, my friend wasn't done with their beer (and it was their only drink, so this wasn't a case of being over-served), but it was taken from the table when it still had a couple-few ounces left in it. Friend was sitting right at the table, just leaned over to talk to someone, so they just missed it happening until the glass was floating away to be dumped and was so flabbergasted they didn't know what to say because yelling "stop! You pilfered my pilsner" seemed a bit uncouth. That was like $3 worth of beer and we're all having hard times right now my dude 🤣
I guess I'd say come for the food and beer, enjoy the clean bathrooms, expect to sometimes have slow service, and keep a death grip...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to give this place a try since it was featured on Rockford Restaurant week list. After doing a quick check on google reviews and seeing they have a 4.7 Rating we thought we were in for a treat. We couldn’t of been more wrong or disappointed. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with the parmesan truffle fries. The Sauce on a sandwich was runny, like they dripped a dry over cooked frozen chicken patty in a bowl of very grainy over powering in a ‘i don’t taste heat or honey, i taste just a ton on Undissolved spices’ kind of way. Then prepare yourself for a major disappointment With the fries that sounded so delicious. They were definitely generic frozen bagged crinkly fries with something similar to the flavored Popcorn seasoning you see at the movie theaters on top! No Exaggeration! Then my husband had the Italian beef. There was more cheese & bread than meat… The Italian beef was lukewarm and very mediocre. The whole restaurant is very mediocre and I have no idea how it received a honest 4.7 ; Maybe the drinks are great? Not sure. For two adults to eat with no cocktails, we paid 70 bucks. We left completely disappointed, hungry & Felt robbed. However, the cheesecake was amazing, I will give it that. However we will not...
