We tried Mission BBQ for the first time today as a carryout order and could not have been more impressed! I walked in a side pick-up door and was immediately greeted and called up to be helped with my to-go order. They had most of my food packed, and Kris went through line by line to make sure everything was correct and accounted for. Even before her double-check, everything was perfect. They were SO generous with sauce for carryout, which, to be clear, the meat did not need at all; I'm just a saucy kind of gal and appreciate not having to ration it. We got a bunch of different things so we could try as many different things as possible, family-style.
-ribs: one of us said the best ribs they have had in a while, and definitely their favorite meat -brisket: we picked lean over moist because I can't stand getting a huge fatty chunk as most of my brisket (looking at you, Dickie's), and it was still so tender and juicy without any huge cap! -pulled pork and chicken: both great, but not as earth-shattering as the ribs and brisket -cheesy potatoes: I'm a mac and cheese fan through and through, but this was amazing -mac and cheese: also really good, and I appreciate that the noodles weren't mush -French fries: they looked fabulous, skin-on, hand-punched, but they didn't carry out well. Definitely grab them for dine in! -baked sweet potato: it's a sweet potato. It's always good. No surprises there -cornbread: probably the only negative. It was pretty dry. It was the only thing we would not order again, but maybe we just caught it on an off day, considering how stellar everything else was -blueberry cobbler: holy moly. I was floored. Beyond delicious!
We also got to try a bunch of different sauces. The Chicago sweet was almost too sweet. Maybe it's molasses-y? Really good on the cornbread! The Memphis belle was a good sweet option that wasn't AS sweet. The smokey mountain one was really good for people who like their sauce smokey. The Texas twang felt like a good middle ground between sweet and smokey. KC and Tupelo packed some heat, but I think all of us preferred one of the others. Definitely worth seeing what you like! I think all of us were surprised at our favorite!
All in all, this was such a great lunch! Placing the order went smoothly, pick-up was speedy, all components were correct, everything except the fries carried out well, and everything was absolutely delicious! We got a package of their slider buns and made lil sandwiches at home with slices of cheese. For $60, we got well over three meals and happy, full bellies.
The thing that stood out most was the people. Everyone was so warm and friendly, and the focus on service was so apparent. Kris especially made this such an impactful first visit. Even as my eyelids grow heavy from the food-induced coma, I had to leave a review before I doze off on the couch. Thank you, Kris! We can't wait to see...

Affordability - 10/10 - given the quality of the meats the relatively low price is a steal. Expect more that you would at fast food chains, but not by much

Today was my first ever visit to mission, and the experience was positive on all sides. The environment of the shop was homey and nice. You can see the huge ovens used to slow cook your meal.
I let the cashier know it was my first time there and she was super patient with me. They offer you your choice of more or less fat on your cuts (as someone who doesn't like the fatty bits with a partner that loves them this was so cool to hear). The cost was very moderate and the speed of service was amazing. They had my food out before I filled my drink. They show you the food before you take it, for your approval. Portions of brisket were generous, moist, fresh, and flavorful, the bun soft and delicious. The loaded mashed potatoes were also a generous portion, and had large chunks of potatoes that were well cooked. The coleslaw also came in a sizeable side container, though a little on the bland...
Read moreThis is my first time going in, went in alone cuz I'm sigma like that. Employee was really nice, he said he has sister named abi but with 2 b's. He was very nice even tho I asked him the dumbest question on mankind he still answered. Overall great employees and the old man that gave me my food very nice and demure lad. Now to the food, I'll be honest if u are a picky eater u ain't gonna like the sauces they got. I tried them all the bearable one was the one the cute lady told me was spicy, but it was just like sweet to me. Chicago sweet is just pure diabetes but oh well. Corn bread idk y but it was dry, never had corn bread before well actually, I have but it had a fishy taste at first and then I got the corn taste. Now the main events the ribs, I got 5 bone ribs it was 15 sum 💀 first bite good, I was like oo okayyyy, second bite driest piece I have ever had. Third bite started getting thirsty 😭( can u tell I didn't get a drink) but I finished the ribs tho, the last part of the ribs were dry but moist and the moist helped carry it till the end. But overall employees are really nice, that cutie bob lady is soo adorable. But food was okay I finished it tho cuz y not, I would go here again but this time bring my own bbq and get...
