I've loved Spider for years, I went from cringing at the idea of raw fish to enjoying multiple rolls of it. The sit down service has always been very good, the food comes out timely and every roll I've tried is great! I don't think it's expensive (it's sushi, hello) and we always get a wonderful meal when we go in. It really is worth going inside and enjoying a casual sit down dinner.
The ONLY issue we have ever had is with their takeout services. I now caution people against getting takeout if they can help it. We've never gotten a correct order and getting it fixed can be a bit of a pain. My partner now refuses to do takeout from Spider. The last time we called ahead for takeout we got to the restaurant in the 20 minute time window they gave us and we waited an additional 30 minutes and watched other orders go in and out without anyone really explaining what was taking so long or apologizing for the wait. The chefs were watching a football game and while it's understandable that sometimes humans will be humans (I'm a server and I'm usually really understanding of how working in a restaurant goes), we were so extremely disappointed in how they handled everything that night that we haven't been back since.
We are going to go in again tonight and dine in, and I know we'll get great service and food. Just know to check your order if you decide to get takeout and wait to pay until you know it's all correct to avoid any extra hassle. I do hope Spider Sushi is around for a long time, it's definitely a date night staple for many...
Read moreUnfortunately, due to not being served the food (complete order) within at least two hours, I cannot say it was an enjoyable experience. While we waited on our order, we are watching the young men on the sushi platform laugh and mess around. We are also seeing others that come in after us ordering and getting served while we are still waiting. This location is nothing like the one that was on Harrison. The young lady that took our order did her job and was very polite. She cannot make the cooks do their jobs. The young lady with the reddish dye in her hair, was not very professional as she was going to other tables talking about the customer that was upset about not being served and arguing with the customer. (if she is the manager, she probably shouldn’t be). The customer had a right to be upset due to the way our party was being neglected. I don’t know where or who the manager actually was in this whole scenario (I believe it was the young lady with the reddish hair because she was interacting with other parties/tables), no one once came out to ask us how we were doing or explain why our food was taking so long. I could only give 1 star for the food and service because we didn’t get the food in a timely manner or our complete order, and the only service that was good was our waitress. I don’t believe I...

What an absolute disaster!!!! Just look at the pictures below. Would you believe me if I tell you that’s “calamari” ….. best believe it. The rolls… most people look at the bright colors, sauces, toppings, presentation, and say “that looks good” but for the few who actually knows what to look for… one glance at the rice texture, fish color, and the overall structure of the roll - it’s definitely squeezed together - you already know the quality of food you’re getting. And it’s not like it’s on the affordable side either, their price is already pretty steep before you even consider the quality and portions you get.
Also, they served us an $18 roll but forgot to put all toppings… then later served the sauces and toppings separately on a dish like I was totally expected to make my own food. You can’t make this up!! They could’ve taken the roll back and do the right thing but no… over $18 for that single roll…
Worse part? I immediately got sick.
I should’ve known better. As soon as we walked in, not a single Asian patron or worker. Big red flag. At the very least, learn how to properly make what you’re supposed to serve. This establishment is a...
