I've been there more times than I can count, which says something in itself.
The tone, vibe, and mood depends entirely when you go there.
In the daytime, it has a more of a bar atmosphere to it (meaning, you can watch whats on the flat screen, relax, and listen to music at normal volume and actually talk to people there if you so choose. They're a pleasant lot.) The bartenders are cheerful, entertaining, and competent no matter what kind of mixed drink you can make up.
In the late evening, when there are DJ's, it's a very loud time. No joke, but maybe I'm just getting old (I'm in my 30's after all!) The bartenders are quick with your drink, but that's about it (David and Josh are boring, sorry.) But your there for the music anyway so who cares.
Its a mix of the bartenders, clientele, and what kind of event is happening that makes the experience. It'll either be exactly what your looking for, or an experience to pass on. If you had the latter, try it again on different day or time, it makes all the difference!
Oh, on some event nights, there is a bouncer lady at the door, and she IS scary. Pay your cover lol!
The one thing I wish they would offer that they don't is free WIFI, as cell signal is spotty at best. You'd think they would for the app crowd at least. You know the ones (wink wink, say no more:)
I hope this review is at least somewhat constructive and helpful to people out there. Hope to...
Read moreStopped in here on a Friday afternoon when passing through the city of Rockford, IL, quickly touring through a handful of destinations on the Peaches Fan Trail.
The Rockford Peaches frequented this bar during the season, so I wanted to enjoy a drink in the same space. Brad served us our drinks and was very friendly, telling us about his travels throughout his life. I asked if they had any peach drinks (to stay on theme) and he made one up on the spot- it was delicious! He mixed peach Jim Beam, Sprite, and lemonade, garnished with a lime. He asked us what they should call it- the Dottie.
The space was clean, drinks were affordable, and I hope to return during the lively hours one night when passing through...
Read moreBartender was very nice and good, love the atmosphere. Only complaint is for pride night the last 2 years they WAY over pack the show room. $10 per person to be jam packed upstairs where it is wall to wall and can't move at all to the point it over flows onto the stairs and you can't make your way up to actually view the show. Need to set a max capacity limit for it or something so you can actually enjoy the show and not just be sardines. Besides that though it was great, decent drinks for a decent price and great vibes and people. Very good guy bar and...
