The last time we were here it was called TopDog. Now there seems to be less seating than before. Prices for 3 were over 50.00 (3 dogs, 1 burger, I onion ring 2 fries with 3 drinks)..The food: the hotdog was spectacular with a grilled bun except I asked for very little mustard. I guess their signature is to lace it like sneaker laces across the top. This adds about 1/4th of a cup of mustard to my hotdog. I needed to scrape most of that off with about 10 napkins. My friend got onion rings. The minute it was set on the table she reached for one and they were all stuck together in one clump. The batter was missing on1/2 of them. The whole batch was lifted when she plucked one up. Not sure what happened with these. This place is not handicapped accessible. I have a walker. Do not go in there with one! One of the servers rudely told me I couldn't stand in the middle after we ordered. I was just trying to fight my way out of the place around the crowd of people, servers, and many boxes of supplies in the way. If they didn't have so many boxes and boxes of supplies cluttering up the place it would be easier for people to move through. Would I go back? Yes. I'd leave the walker...
Read moreHad heard a lot about this spot, but it seems like they are still working out the kinks. Staff were super friendly and nice, really great and cheerful service. Burger was tasty, but sort of fell apart and the lettuce was basically the stem part of an iceberg lettuce leaf which sort of made the burger slip around and fall apart. Onion rings were “fine”, but the batter disintegrated and fell off, leading me to suspect the fryer oil was not hot enough and it was just absorbed by the batter. I was one of the first folks there for lunch, so they may have just been getting things up and running for the day. This disappointment really set back my reaction. I would definitely try this place again to see if I have a different experience, might try later in the afternoon as I really think their fryer was not hot enough which created a handicap that was hard to come back from. Total bill was $25 plus tax and tip for a burger to go. At that price point, you sort of have to nail it.
*Revising this review after a second visit the following year. Much better experience with much better execution. Burger was first class and the onion rings were crispy and fresh. Really a...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Rockport on a whim in December, did a quick search of restaurants for lunch and came across Little Sister. We saw there were only a limited amount of reviews , which made us a little leary, but decided to try it anyway based on the previous good reviews. Happy to say the previous reviewers were spot on! I believe more reviews will be coming from others once they experience what we did.
This place is a little gem! If you are looking for fancy, this is not your place (it doesn't claim to be that). Seating is limited (especially for the winter) but it was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly.
If you decide to go, however, you will be treated to some GREAT comfort food. We eat out regularly so have a lot to compare to. We ordered the Talise burger, onion rings and french fries. Burger was made to order, fresh and juicy (very tasty). Onion rings, which had a thin batter which we like, were some of the best we've had. Seasoning in batter was delicious! French fries, which were thin, came out hot and seasoned just right. Left there very happy with the meal. We would highly visiting Little Sister when you...
