We absolutely loved our stay at The Cove and we cannot wait to come back! Let’s break it down for you as to why you should stay here and I’ll give you my honest feedback on everything to help you with your decision.
The clubhouse: OMG, this place was phenomenal. Everything looked brand new and very modern and it was just an amazing place to eat and hang out! We brought my Xbox to play dance central and it couldn’t have been more fun.
The room: Amazing views and great decor - comes with a fridge and microwave! The beds really are as comfortable as everyone is saying it is. We stayed in room 1 and this was connected to their front porch and a great view of the beach! Room 1 comes with a king bed and bed room with two queens. I was sleeping in the bed under the HVAC and whenever my ears were on the pillow, it would constantly feel like a truck was going by. Management was super nice about it and said it may be the HVAC. So if you’re a light sleeper, let someone who is not sleep in the bed under the HVAC! Seeing the sunrise in the AM was so perfect! If there was direct access to the clubhouse (which is just a small loop around, it would’ve been even better since we had to wheel grandma up and down the small hill)
Cleanliness: Overall, everything looked brand new! I did find some stains on the bed sheets and some hairs and stains on the pillows but I think that’s unavoidable? One suggestion I have is the trash bin outside is not emptied regularly so when it got full, we had to head to the ones on the streets to toss our trash away. We stayed in a lot because most of the places were closed nearby so we had our fair share of trash!
Location: I personally loved being able to just walk a street over to the beach! A lot of friendly locals walking their dogs! It’s also not too far from bearskin neck! I mean it wasn’t super close but it was a great and relaxing walk to the tip.not alot of restaurants were open when we went (mid-march) so if you’re really planning on getting the full experience, you might want to wait until things start to open up in April.
Hospitality: the person I made the reservation with was so kind! She really took the time to explain the rooms to me for us to make a decision. I also met the co-owner (hi! It’s the girl with the mess bun enjoying breakfast on the high chairs) and he was awesome to talk to!
Very lovely place and we cannot wow tot return and have already showed a bunch of family and friends who plan on staying in the future.
Thank you for such a...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of staying at The Cove, and I must say, the experience was a delightful blend of modern convenience and a warm, cozy ambiance. From the moment we booked our stay, the AirBnB-style check-in and out process set the tone for a hassle-free trip.
Upon arriving in Rockport via train earlier than our designated check-in time, we were pleasantly surprised to find that gaining access to the property was a breeze. Communication with the hosts was efficiently handled through email and text messages, providing us with clear instructions on how to use the keypad entry system. Once we arrived at the beautiful clubhouse, we left our bags with confidence, knowing they were secure.
The clubhouse itself was a gem. It was tastefully designed with a blend of modern and rustic elements, offering a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. We appreciated the opportunity to freshen up and recharge after our journey before setting off to explore the charming town.
Exploring Rockport was a true delight, and having the option to leave our bags at the clubhouse after the 10 am check-out time was a fantastic perk. This flexibility allowed us to make the most of our last day, unencumbered by our luggage. We wandered through the town's quaint streets, enjoying local cafes, boutique shops, and absorbing the town's unique charm.
As for the accommodations themselves, the property did not disappoint. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the comfortable furnishings to the thoughtful amenities provided. The interior exuded a sense of home away from home, and we found ourselves instantly relaxed and at ease. The porch views overlooking Front Beach were a big bonus and made for the perfect end of day activity.
Although the AirBnB-style check-in and out might sound impersonal at first, it actually enhanced the feeling of independence and privacy during our stay. The hosts were readily available via text and email for any queries we had, which gave us peace of mind.
All in all, our stay at The Cove was a fantastic experience. The seamless AirBnB-style check-in and out process, complemented by the use of keypads and timely communication with the hosts, made for an effortless stay. We relished the freedom to explore the town without worrying about our bags, and the charming accommodations made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend this lovely hideaway to fellow travelers seeking a perfect balance between convenience and comfort when...
Read moreGreat location and a beautiful, clean room with a great view (room 11 on top floor). We give it a 3 star because the check in experience was difficult. Yes, the hotel does advise in advance that they utilize a self check in using a code for the door. Here's how it worked for us: we parked in the hotel lot which is more than a block from the hotel. We arrived at 2:00 for a 3:00 check in. We walked into the front of the hotel and it was empty, but there are painted instructions on the front window to call a number if you have questions (the painted window actually says checkin is "easy," but call if you have questions.) Our questions were basic like "is our room ready" and "how do we get there". Thankfully, someone answered the phone, but we were told our room wasn't ready - which is fine. As we were sitting and waiting, a manager actually did show up and suggested we walk to a great restaurant at the far end of the cove to make a dinner reservation - about a 20 minute walk - but the restaurant was actually shut down. So, at least we killed an hour and our room would be ready by the time we got back. By the way, make another phone call to get the code for the King St. side door to get into the hotel. We dragged our luggage up the three stories (no compliants - we knew that was coming) but the code they gave us for the room didn't work. This is where the "3 star" instead of "5 star" hits you. You're tired from traveling, waiting and lugging luggage and then you get to your expensive room, and you're now a little panicked because you've got to hope and pray that your phone call from the third floor while out of breath gets answered by someone off premises who can solve this problem. To their credit, they did answer the phone and after about 5 minutes the problem was solved. The bottom line to us is that the experience could be so much better for the patrons with a human doing "front desk duties" during check in times. The check in process is "easy" and cheap for them, but not for the customer. Finally, we sat in the chairs in our room and the metal bars under the padding immediately hurt our bottoms. Things settled after all that and we actually enjoyed the remainder...
