This beach is a true gem! We usually find parking, which can be difficult to find a free space during peak times, but I don’t mind making the trek from town, it is so worth it! Folks are friendly, very family oriented, and you can see typical beach things, picnic, snorkel, swim, sunbathe, enjoy the sights! There was a lifeguard on duty, which was reassuring. It’s a small beach, so it’s easy to walk. The sand is filled with treasures, and the water clear and clean. I’ve been coming here since very young, and little has changed, that’s a good thing! There’s a new faucet by the bathroom for cleaning sandy feet! Sky, surf, shells….nothing could be better! We made friends with a very nice local, she walked us halfway back down the hill. Very pleasant atmosphere that will have you...
Read moreFront Beach is one of my family's favorite beach destinations. It is a small, secluded inlet with sand that is mostly covered during high tide. There are rock formations and plenty of good sand-castle sand for the kiddies. We typically get there early which means plenty of on-street parking (pay at kiosk w/ credit card accepted, $4 for 4 hours). The sand and water are generally very clean and they have a lifeguard on duty during summer months/peak times. There is also a dock which provides a nice swimming challenge for the younger children and possibly for their older, out-of-shape father :).
The kids usually get their fill in 2-3 hours and then we can go explore Bearskin Neck. There are plenty of restaurants, eateries and shops to...

At low tide, our favorite activity is to climb onto the rocks to access the tide pools to search for crabs and snails. This is by far our favorite beach. Local shops, restaurants, and (most importantly) ice cream shops are within easy walking distance. Street parking is affordable nearby (meters), or you can park a little further away for free on side streets (still only ~5 min walk). Public restrooms are located at the back of the beach, so you really have everything you need...
