While the atmosphere was nice, the server we had was not. Me & my husband came in to a couple of days ago, while we had to leave due to work and could’ve stayed, the service provided was what turned us off and we both decided to leave because of it. When we got sat at our booth, the server (lady with black liner) just seemed to be in a rush and acted like she didn’t want to be there. As I was just sitting down, she comes over and asks the two of us if we were ready to order. We literally just got sat by the host, but okay? My husband tells her that we would like a few minutes, so she kind of rolls her eyes and asks if we want anything to drink. We both tell her water and she asks us if we want to share a bottle - we’re both confused if she meant a water pitcher or jug, but she looks at us like we’re stupid and just repeats bottle. We both say yes, but just confused why she was acting like we were asking for a lot. She comes back with an Acqua Panna bottle and two glasses of water with ice (which my husband had asked for no ice) - guess what? The $2 bottle of water you can get from Safeway is being charged for $5, and she didn’t tell us until we asked if this was free. Not sure how hard it could’ve been to just fill two cups with water versus trying to upcharge us. She then asks if “we’re finally ready to order”; lady we’ve only been here for 10 minutes and most of the time was waiting for the water. We tell her again that we need a few minutes to decide, we get a call from work, and while we could’ve just stayed to eat - we didn’t. There was just no reason to try to rush us, nor was the rolling of eyes, childlike impatience or attitude necessary at her grown age.
So, to the server who had the liner, fix your poor decorum and take it up with someone else. If you don’t want to be a server, then don’t be one.
We really wanted to try this place out, but just the sheer amount of laziness and attitude from the server was enough as it was. The interior was pretty though, and the host was very...
Read moreI wouldn't suggest it, well definitely not for social hour, just come for regular dine in. $45 social hour with no drinks.
Don't get me wrong on a warm fall day I thought this would be an amazing location Nope I should have driven past and gone to the yard house where the entire restaurant is a "happy" hour (no specific location for deals) with great deals, epic energy and amazing service from the moment you arrive.
The only highlight was that the bartender was very friendly but the poor lady looked overworked, I truly appreciated her smiling and being professional although I could see she was holding her area down alone.
Visit Details I arrived to no hostess. I waited only to continue waiting, time is ticking social hour is limited. I was hoping to find out where the social hour was located and if it was only at the bar area or through the restaurant, after a while I just walked to the bar and ended up passing the hostess who I saw walking up laughing with staff in the back when I asked her If she could tell me if I just go to the bar or just wait, she got very snappy as if I was bothering her. I alerted her that it wasn't a hostess so I wasn't sure what to do, she walked away saying you just go outside.
I go to the patio for the waitress to tell me I have to wait to sit outside and I would need to see the hostess... I just sat in the semi outside bar, to get bar service. Then the next kill joy, the sad new social hour menu. It's been cut down or maybe the outdoor bar menu is different from the indoor bar menu idk, I do know it was just disappointing.
The burger and onion rings were not great, a bunch of over cooking onion straws over sliders 😵💫 however the pizza we got looked over cooked but actually was really good. Sigh just not the best social hour environment after a very stressful day complete mood kill. Weird when you get to a social hour and change your mind on wanting a drink... I decided I'd just partake at home.
You...
Read moreWent to matchbox after a memorial service and was fairly disappointed with our service and the temperature of food. Due to the size of our party, we were seated on the second floor at a table for 12, which was located at their upstairs soda station. We were waiting for some additions to our party who went to the wrong location, and we waited about 10-15 minutes for our waiter/ server to take our drink order. After the rest of our party arrived, it took another 15 minutes for our waiter to appear to take their drink order. Our drinks trickled in because they were made at the bar downstairs and were brought to us one at a time. The coffee that was ordered was cold by the time it got to our table, and the sodas and ice water didn't have much ice to keep the drinks cold.
After about 45 minutes of waiting, our food order was finally taken. We ordered two orders of the cat iron table bread (rolls with mozzarella cheese). We were given both brunch and regular menus, but because of the time it took our waiter to take our food order, brunch was no longer an option, so some of our party had to reorder their meals.
The bread came to our table at an ok temperature, but the mozzarella cheese for both orders of bread was in a congealed disk, making it difficult to eat and enjoy. I ordered the Bistro Burger medium rare, which was cooked unevenly and seemed to be missing the comeback sauce on the burger. The fries that came with the meal were cold upon arrival and were not eaten. Most others seemed to enjoy their meal, so I didn't bother to ask the waiter for a new burger and fries, due to the circumstances of our day prior to our arrival at matchbox.
Service, overall, was disappointingly slow. Our experience at matchbox was almost three hours long. Along with the mandatory 20% gratuity, the app and receipt asked us to pay an additional gratuity.
For the price that we paid, overall I would say it was an...
