We had dinner at the newly opened Amaya Taqueria in Rockwall, and y’all… it’s a must-try! 👏

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was on point, and the food? Absolutely delicious.

🌮 I had the suizas enchiladas and my guy ordered the tacos de lengua—both packed with bold, authentic flavor. The chips and salsa? Fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. 😋 💵 Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and there was a steady flow of happy diners the whole time we were there—which is always a good sign!

I already spotted a few dishes I want to come back and try. Safe to say, Amaya Taqueria is officially in our Rockwall foodie rotation.

The food was good at Amaya's but the service was not. The staff was friendly. However, the wait staff left a lot to be desired. Drinks were never refilled. Chips and salsa not restocked. I ordered the caldo de res (beef spoup). Someone else at my table did as well. After ordering, 20 minutes later the wait staff said they could only do one caldo de res. So we ordered something else. Then one caldo was delivered. 5 minutes later a different waiter brought out another, even though we're told they could only do one. Very confusing. The wait staff looked lost and confused as well. Again, the people were friendly, but just not real confident or competent on...
