The experience here was shockingly underwhelming. Unfortunately the service was the biggest issue. The food was basic but definitely not as advertised on the menu. For reference I visited the place as a party of 3 around 10am.
I understand that not every breakfast place can make a variety of coffee beverages but even after instructions to make a drink with 2 shots of espresso and 2 oz of milk, I was served an americano because of the lack of communication from the server to the barista and then a latte on a second attempt. The final product tasted like it was either drip coffee with milk or very watered down espresso with milk. If you canât do it or have the knowledge to make something your customer is asking just say you cannot make it.
For the food we had the Smokey Lox Benedict, Cinnamon Roll French Toasts, and Mini Pancakes. The Smoky Lox Benedict came out with some issues with the hollandaise as it was breaking but still good flavor just over on salt. The were eggs poached perfectly and the primary flavor was smoke. The hash browns came out crispy and golden. Note, the menu description is incorrect as this item has smoked salmon. No details on the type of salmon.
The Mini Pancakes for my toddler were full sized pancakes with a small pile of chocolate chips on top. Only reason we ordered was so my 2 year old had an easier time eating. Deceptive menu description.
The Cinnamon Roll French Toast description was also deceptive. They were advertised on the menu as coming with buttercream frosting but when served, it came with cool whip. The edges of the French toast were burned and the cinnamon bun French toast slices themselves were extremely dry. The Cinnamon Roll French Toasts were also late because the server put in regular French toasts so they had to remake it. Note the server did not come check when the incorrect order was given to me. She came out minutes after I had received the remake after I communicated with the person who brought the food out. I also asked the server on my initial order if fried chicken was an option as a side three times and the server forgot to ask.
In addition to those issues, I requested silverware four separate times before the server remembered to bring them. As a server the most crucial part of the job is to attend your tables and communicate with the kitchen to get the orders in and correct. Key word correct because I get the wait is longer when a...
Read moreA friend I'd not seen in a while recommended we try 30 Brunch House out, as she'd heard it was good.
We met, and the wait was about 20 minutes, which isn't that bad for a Saturday morning.
I chose the Smoked Lox Benny (Eggs Benedict). It was divine. My friend enjoyed her pancakes and eggs, too.
The restaurant is a bit loud, but we made it work. Our server was relatively decent but not overly attentive.
We sat and chatted for about 15 minutes after paying the bill. We were mid-chat when an employee came to our table, thanked us for coming, then told us they're on a wait, so basically, it was time to wrap it up and leave.
We both sat there in shock. I have never in my life been asked to leave a restaurant due to the wait. A restaurant wait is assumed, especially on a weekend day. Plus, we looked around and saw at least 4 empty tables so they could have sat those prior to asking us to leave.
I understand if we'd been there for hours, but we'd only finished our meal shortly before. I'm still astounded that even happened.
As good as the food is, I will never again go to this establishment.
If they want to push people through their system, that's their prerogative. But if I'm spending money to eat at a sit-down restaurant and tip their waitstaff well (our waitress got a 42% tip from me, despite it being average service), I'd prefer to not feel like I'm being rushed out of there.
The food was excellent, and the service was decent (well, until we were practically escorted out), so take what you will of it. Give it a try. Just be forewarned, you may not...
Read moreThe service was horrible**. We had a party of 3 and went at 1:00pm for late lunch. We got sat promptly and loved the variety of menu items they had. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come get our drink order. By the time our waitress came to get our drink order, we were ready to order our food as well. This was about 1:20p. After a second round of coffee (that our waitress did not get. We had to flag down another guy to get us more coffee) we had not seen our waitress and were just patiently waiting for our food. It was about 2:38p and FINALLY she came to our table. I was assuming she was coming to say âsorry that it was taking longâ but no⊠she said that she forgot to put our order in and she lost the ticket our order was on and she wanted to get our order again. We had been there for an hour and a half with only two cups of coffee and maybe saw our waitress twice. If the place was crazy busy, I might would be more understanding. But that wasnât the case. There was maybe 4 other tables occupied and plenty of staff hanging around. Needless to say, we just politely said âno thank you, we are leavingâ. She also made it sound like it wasnât a big deal we sat there for so long without our food and chuckled her way back to the kitchen. In a world with people wanting everything âright nowâ, we try to be patient with everyone and give some grace to businesses because you never know whatâs going on. But this was poor communication and service skills. We will not...
