I honestly do not enjoy leaving negative feedback but they earned it. We visited here about three weeks ago and saw that they were under new management, big banner at the front of the restaurant called it out. We arrived around 6:30 pm and a waitress immediately came over to take out drink order. She asked if we wanted it in to go cups and that's the way we asked for it. She came back with both beverages in the hard plastic cups, definitely not the customary to go styrofoam. It was all down hill from there. We sat there for 40 minutes watching several tables being served their food that came in 15 to 20 or more minutes after we arrived. Finally we ran out of patience so I got up to ask about our order. Well it turns out the waitress never gave it to the kitchen. Frustrated we just left. Fast forward to last night. We decided to give them another try giving them a mulligan on the first visit under the new management. BIG MISTAKE. We arrived at 7:25 pm and again a waitress immediately came over to take our drink order. Well, deja vu struck. Once again we waited patiently while several people who arrived well after we did were served with their orders while we were sitting there still waiting for someone to stop by and fill our long emptied cups. The place closed at 8:00 so at 7:55 I had to flag down a waitress who had already walked by us at least 5 times to inquire about our order. She was anything but polite and in a very curt and indignant tone said that she would check on it. 5 full minutes later she brought two "cold" plates of food. A cold order of spaghetti and a cold cheeseburger. We were just stunned that they would expect someone to eat a meal in that condition. I am giving this embarrassment of a restaurant a one star rating only because a zero star was an option. The "new management" should take a long hard look at what's going on there because they just lost two people who have faithfully patronized that place since it originally opened. By the way, the table behind us two adults and two children, got up and walked out without paying. They got their order wrong and I guess it made them mad enough that it took them so long to correct it. They came in and sat down about 15 minutes after we arrived and they were served their initial meal as well as the replacement and our food had still not arrived. In retrospect I regret paying for the artic meal that we were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been coming here every time I visit my dad with my husband and daughter, but this last visit was very disappointing.
We arrived around 3 PM and were greeted by a friendly waitress who took great care of us. My dad and I ordered the BBQ ribs, my husband got the fish sandwich, and my daughter ordered mac and cheese.
The food came out quickly, but the ribs looked and tasted old, as if theyād been reheated. My husband said his fish sandwich was bland with very little fish, and my dadās coleslaw was sour like it had gone bad. I tried the ribs myself, and after two bites, I had to rush to the restroom to throw up (Iām 7 months pregnant). The bathrooms were also dirty, with no toilet paper in my stall and an unflushed toilet I flushed them myself and pushed the paper towel trash down for them.
The fried squash I ordered was soggy and oily, though the fried okra my dad got was decent. The coffee was old (the waitress admitted it was from that morning), but she did keep the sweet tea refilled.
When we returned the ribs, a German cockroach ran across our table toward the food my daughter dropped. (My dad said I should have took a photo of the roach before I flicked it but I panicked) Shortly after, the chef came out defensively explaining how they āpre-broilā their ribs before reheating them to serve, but they still tasted spoiled and asking where we are from making it seem a little offensive. He eventually took them off the bill, and we only paid for the kidsā meal, the fish sandwich and the drinks. Crazy how a BBQ RESTAURANT canāt get a bbq meal right. š
But the waitress was the best part of our visit, but unfortunately, everything else was a nightmare. We wonāt be returning.
Ps- if you want to experience an episode of kitchen nightmares Iād...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen they first opened Johnny must have been there every day because it was a great place. Food was outstanding, service top notch and the atmosphere was comfortable and cozy, a place to relax and unwind with respectable company. Either Johnny's not there as frequently as he used to be or nobody cares about catering to the individuals needs. Usually happens once a place gets established and they start to rest on their laurels, customer service goes down and prices go up! Unfortunately, this seems to be the case now. Used to be where you could order a big (feeding 5) "to go" order and not worry about check-in the bag before you left, there would be plenty of condiments and everything that you ordered was there. Now, I'm somewhat sorry to say but you have to check the bag but on a sour note, you need to cross-reference your bill with the prices on the menu. If course this isn't management's fault but it seems that every place in Salisbury (and surrounding areas) has deceitful and underhanded people working for them, it's quite common to see the bill being $1-$5 more than what it should be. It seems the employees are taking it upon themselves to tip them! It's sad as well, Salisbury used to be that down-home cozy place where you could leave your doors unlocked, now however, you need to watch your back! What has this...
