McDonald's — Restaurant in Rocky Hill

If there were an option for 0 stars, I would've selected that. Halfway through a long road trip home from vacation, my kids woke up and were hungry for a late dinner. We saw there was a McDonald's off this exit and decided to stop here. We walked up to the door and saw all were locked. A single diner was eating his meal inside, while an employee was sweeping the floor. I asked through the window "are you open?," to which he nodded yes and indicated they were and they were just cleaning. The posted dining room hours were until 11 PM (it was 8 PM) but nothing indicated they were closed. We waited outside several more minutes with cranky, hungry kids, and after the single diner left, another worker proceeded to put the chairs on the tables to begin mopping. I tried asking "will this take long?" through the glass but he wouldn't even look up to me, and proceeded to take his time mopping the floor while scrolling on his phone. We decided even if they did open (we didn't expect them to the rest of night), the service would be horrible, so we headed to a different McDonald's in Glastonbury. As we were leaving, we saw an exceptionally long drive through line, indicating even though that the drive through was open, the service was incredibly slow. I don't expect 5-star service at a fast food restaurant, but I expect some semblance of customer service, and this location has none. I am so unhappy with this McDonald’s. So because this restaurant doesn’t answer phones and if you Grubhub or DoorDash you have to direct your complaints to them it’s not a delivery issue. This will be the third and last problem. The first two I ordered on DD thinking maybe the website doesn’t read right I decided Grubhub this evening. EXTRA onions on a cheeseburger reads to them NO onions I guess. Nothing worse than paying 15.00 for a meal that just doesn’t meet sub par quality. I live 2 miles from the place it took less then four min from restaurant to my house as I watched my driver and the food was ice cold. The French fries had a weird tingy aftertaste no way not again. What these restaurants don’t understand someone paying delivery and fees 2x cheeseburger meals 40 dollars. Not having your order correct and it not meeting good quality is a problem. 40 dollars is a lot of money. The food I received this evening isn’t with half of what was paid. No I won’t call GH and have them credit my account I order with them all the time and don’t want my account checked. Step your game up. ETA: I wanted to add it has been NINE MONTHS and no one reached out to me. No one refunded me either. I will stick with the Glastonbury location. This is just terrible customer service. Really disappointed with this location. Over a week ago I ordered my husband a big kids happy meal to the tune of $15.00. I also ordered more food for my daughter and I. I spent over $30.00. I ordered through the app and headed there to pick up the food. I waited 25 minutes in the mobile ordering spot. An employee comes to the window with a bag and tells me they are out of the happy meal boxes. No big deal that's fine. I said "The toy is in here?". He replied "Uhh no we are out of those too". Okay. So do I get a refund for the $5.00 difference between a adult happy meal and a Big Mac meal? Nope, it wasn't even offered. I was told he did not know what to do and "I just work here Ma'am." The employee told me complain through the app. So I wrote the app an email. I received response with an apology from customer care that stated I would hear back from the manager of this location very shortly and I would be refunded.
