I am writing this review as an Uber Eats driver. Today, I drove from East Hartford to Mitchells in Rocky Hill to pick up an order for a customer. I had never been there before so I wasn’t sure where I was supposed to go to pick it up. Much like most places, I spotted a shelf with the to-go orders and could clearly see the customers name on the bag with his drink next to it. I stood at the counter waiting to be acknowledged as I could see the wait staff was occupied. I knew they could see I was there but proceeded to do other things so I walked to the other side of the restaurant, next to the shelf, hoping someone could just hand me the order. Well the waitress did a double take when she noticed I moved to the other side and then decided to acknowledge me since she was annoyed. I told her the customer’s name I was picking up for and the service I was working for. She told me that I’m supposed to pick up at the counter. I said, “I was over there but was being ignored by multiple people. I understand if you’re busy but I’m just trying to do my job too.”She proceeded to step closer to me and say, “EXCUSE ME?” She had the order in her hands and still was not giving it to me. She then proceeded to say, “you’re getting the tip for this, not me! How about I throw it in the trash and give you a bad review!” So, she proceeded to chuck this man’s order in the trash. I then said, “you’re just hurting the customer, not me”. Her response was, “Uber will just cancel the order”. Unfortunately, this customers order was canceled and I’m sure it set his day off on the wrong note. If he reads this, I tried to get your order to you in a timely manner but this woman had complete disregard for you as a customer and in trying to spite me, ruined your day. I called the manager immediately and told him the whole story. He just said something about customers sometimes getting the wrong orders. He said that he was very busy and he really needed to go and hung up. My suggestion to you is that if you continue to use food delivery services, you need to better support your staff in handling...
Read moreRocky Hill location. This is my favorite breakfast spot, but only Monday thru Friday. Twice I’ve been disappointed on the weekend visits, but today (Saturday) was one of the worst breakfast dining experiences EVER. I ordered my usual Salmon Benedict w/o Hollandaise, because the egg yolk makes the dish nice and moist without all those extra calories. Instead I got two hard boiled eggs on overcooked salmon with charred asparagus that was on one of the muffins, just touching the other, and hanging off the plate. I spoke to the waitress about it and she assured me it was done properly. The egg was like that because it cooks the brain in the center of the yolk first. I kid you not!!! She made no effort to replace it or even notify the cook. My boyfriend’s meal was equally appalling - rubbery bacon, undercooked sausage and the waffle didn’t taste right, nor the potatoes. His eggs were good, but I’ve never known him to leave so much on his plate and neither of us took take home. We waited a good 20 minutes for a booth, which unfortunately put us past the 1pm close. When that clock struck one, we were requested to check out even though we hadn’t finished our food. The waitress ignored his request for coffee (she was busy trying to make a deal with someone for her brother’s tree trimming business), and by the time she did, she said, this is your last refill - we’re closing. I have never been so rushed and been treated so rudely. All my visits with M-F staff have...
Read moreUnfortunately, this review is based on service alone. I have never in my entire life been treated so poorly upon just ENTERING an establishment. As I approached the door in crutches, there was a nice elderly gentleman exiting who graciously opened the door for us. We entered the establishment, and another couple entered maybe a minute behind us. We were by the entrance and this was our first experience, so we attempted to ask if we need to check in or how it works. My niece was not even allowed to finish her question before the person who appeared to be in charge of seating, Abruptly interrupted ,wailing her hands on the air “I don’t know, I don’t know” dismisses us altogether and proceeds to seats someone. She the returns again we try to ask then she again, “I don’t know, I don’t know, (arms still flailing) who’s next” and calls on the couple behind us, which let her know we were actually next. She then just turns her back to us. Throwing her hands up. At this moment we decided to leave. I am not sure if they were having a difficult morning, or if they were being flat out racist. But I refuse to be treated so poorly, no matter how great the rating is at this restaurant. Which we looked up with Intention for a good experience which was the furthest thing we received. I will NEVER return nor recommend. Please consider that the greeting can make or break someone’s dining experience and everyone should be treated...
