Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Rocky Mount

Took my wife here for a birthday lunch. we came around 2 PM so it would not be busy as it is during lunch and dinner. We sat for an hour with the couple we went with watching other people get their food and servers sat a few seats away having lunch. We ordered burgers and fries, which do not take long to get usually in a restaurant that's not busy with plenty of help. The manager Chase that was on duty said he was from the Greenville store and that was pretty much the excuse for the service we got. This place really needs to work on their service and quality. We got unsweetened tea refilled ontop of our sweet tea (which is understandable things happen). The waitress was not polite about it and brought us other teas that where also unsweetened but also sour. Again we spoke to the manager Chase who said as a company they are "trying to use less sugar". I told him the tea was unsweetened and he said it's less sweet until he finally tried it before we left and acknowledged it was sour. Then my wife's burger had some type of hot spicy sauce on it that was not supposed to be on it. (Glad she wasnt allergic)Then when he could only do but so much to the bill for these issues and others not mentioned he said there were no other managers on duty and said they were out getting supplies. I asked if that's what held up our service and he acknowledged it was part of it. Before we paid for this experience the manager stood at the kitchen door with the waiter and one other person pointing at our table as the were talking which made all of us highly uncomfortable. All in all horrible experience and as it was handled by the manager and staff we will not eat at chillies again nor recommend it. Wish the manager was more accommodating so we could have felt more appreciated as patrons...

Stopped for dinner on our trip from NY to FL. 3 other tables with people in the entire restaurant, and it still took 10 minutes to come take our order. That wasn't a big deal. Coming back 15 minutes later to tell my wife they didn't have fajitas due to "technical issues" was a head scratcher. So then my wife's dinner sans fajitas (which she didn't care about) then arrived 10 minutes later. Then waitress disappears for 5-10 minutes - no sign of my son or my meal. Another waitress walks by and says our food will be out soon, as they are waiting for fries for my son and my steak. 10 more minutes pass, still no sign of our waitress. My wife sees her and flags her down. Still waiting for my steak, but the food for my son is ready - not that it was brought out yet. So... now what? My wife tells her that we have been there close to an hour. Waitress says she'll talk to her manager. 5 minutes later, waitress walks by and says don't worry, my manager "got you". 10 minutes after that, our food comes out by a third woman. Was it the manager? No idea. Just said sorry for the wait, here's your food. 5 minutes after that, original waitress says dessert is on them. Then the bill comes, and the $8 cheesecake is on the bill! Had to track down waitress to remove the cheesecake. Apparently, manager getting us is almost upselling us, not taking something off of the bill, coming back within 5 minutes of taking an order to inform they don't have inventory, or to take 55 minutes to cook a 10oz sirloin to medium rare. Got us.

We actually drove past other options to eat here because there are not many Chili's left. Turns out we should have drove past this Chili's and gone basically...

After driving 40 mins for a hopefully good experience eating out. We waited 15 minutes for drinks after being sat down or for anyone to even greet us. Waitress was very slow & seemed like she had a very bad attitude, I ordered a burger that was $18 was not worth $18 at all, it was big in size & tasted generally decent but they forgot to add onions to the burger which is one of the things that was supposed to come on the burger, there was maybe a sliver of ranch on the burger even though it’s called a rancher burger, when I asked for onions the waitress comes back with 2 different types of onions & snaps an attitude saying I’m not sure which ones you want but these are the ones that come on it & these are the other kind we have, so I took the ones that were initially supposed to be on the burger, ordered a pepperoni pizza for my daughter & it wasn’t even cooked all the way, even though they were fast with the food, our drinks were disgusting I ordered strawberry lemonade & my hubby ordered sweet tea, we had to ask for different drinks I got a water he got root beer, upon leaving we were given the check & the strawberry lemonade was left on it, even though I drank literally nothing but a sip to try it & ordered water as a replacement, we didn’t even fight having it taken off the receipt because of the service being so slow. We witnessed the servers having attitudes with each other because of something to do with the glass cups. It just was very unprofessional & didn’t seem very much like a very welcome enjoyable place to eat at. Wasn’t worth the price for the food or the service. Will not be returning to this...
