Yesterday was the first time being here since before COVID. Reason we came is b/c another restaurant had to long of a wait and we thought let's go to Golden Corral! So we get there around 1-130pm and it's very very busy. As expected. We find a seat, we get some drinks but our 2 year old did not get her milk. I then went up to this lady waitress person who was just standing around near the drink station. I asked her if she could get me some milk for my daughter since we never got it. She didn't understand and I guess thought I said meal as she told me I had to go up front and pay. Finally after repeating she figured out I said milk... Then she told me I would have to wait for my server and choose to provide NO further help. I then went to the front pay area where another server was there and I randomly asked her if she could help get this milk. She instantly said yes and rushed to the back coming back out with three cartons of milk and gave them to me. How small of a situation that made me and my family very happy and thankful. I then found the manager to explain to him the situation. When trying to describe the original lady to him, that lady popped up and started to run her mouth again in which the manager walked her away. After this I felt I wanted to say thank you to the lady who got us this milk. I was able to provide her with a tip directly. Then for our server, I noticed her working our entire section by herself, running around and just giving it her all because again it was extremely busy. She would come by when she could to check on us and even apologized that she had forgotten the milk. Again going above on overall service. I also provided her directly a tip. In short, some of the employees show with their work effort their need to make ends meet and are thankful to have the opportunity to work no matter where and under any circumstances. Other employees hold up walls and look as if they are doing something. I don't know I would be going back as it did smell in there and just was way to busy and food choices were not that appealing. But did want to comment on the few who went...
Read moreWe have eaten at our share of Golden Corrals up and down the East coast, however tonight was by far the "BEST* we have ever had. My daughter (12years old) said that they didn't have any cotton candy on the desert bar, so she informed me she had asked the young man to fix some, when he got done he bagged up 3 big nice size bags of cotton candy and handed them to my daughter. True, there had been other children in and out since we sat down for dinner, but I did take a good look around and she was the youngest in the restaurant at the time. This young man stopped filling the pie plates and made the cotton candy for her. Sir, this did NOT go unnoticed. I talked to the manager and praised you before I left. Once in the parking lot, the car in reverse, my daughter (same one) realized she left her iPhone on the table, she only had to go like 10 feet or less because the manager Kyle was in the parking lot looking for us. I'm sure the young waitress realized it was our phone and gave it to him in case we came back. However Kyle took the extra steps to find the right owner. Some may say it's the right thing to do, true, but we all know the right thing to do is not how most people are living these days. I will continue to support this particular Golden Corral as they have the best customer service around. It's hard to find good service and they definitely have the best I've ever seen. Thank you Kyle, our waitress, and the young man in the bakery for making our dinner the best we've had out ever. Thank you for showing us that there are still good people who work with the public. I must also admit, the food was the best we've ever had as well. It was the best experience ever in a restaurant. Great job the employees...
Read moreWent to the Rocky Mount NC location. Not enough food on the buffet. Had to way to many people for the amount of staff. The staff let this grouo of children throw food everywhere and at us. The children were using the handsantisizer machine and rubbing it into the bowla on the buffet. Nobody ever made them stop or speak to the family. The staff was loud behind the butcher's area but trying to be nice and bring peiple their steaks however they lingered to long and never wwashed their hamds before going back into the butcher's area. Plates were nasty. The smell of the bathrooms always linger and comoletely stink up the back half of the restraunt. There was nothing on the buffet and then if your were lucky enough to get anything it was cold and old. What happened to the variety? Children throwing nasty food on the "clean" dish counter and nobody says anything heck they didnt even clean it up or replace the plates. Then there was no dessert counter. The ice cream machine was out. The corn candy was months old by the taste. Rotten strawberries. Snacks were so old either they cracked the plate or either they would come off the stick. The jello was like old moldy flavor mush water. Then there was always a fight to get a darn roll So good luck if you ever go to...
