Well, the food is great for the most part. Today's order was not so great. Steak sub special...meat was over cooked and dry. Very little lettuce & tomato and NO chips. Pizza was cold and it was checked upon leaving as it was a carry out order. Did not go back in as I was again shocked at the owner's attitude as it was the past 3 times we went to Frank's. It seems the owner has a bit of an arrogant attitude especially toward women. I will probably drive all the way into Vinton to New York Pizza from now on simply due to the arrogant attitude of the owner here. Maybe it is a northern attitude issue but here in the south....we simply don't treat people like this...male or female. I am very upset at the way I have been completely ignored the last 3 visits even when I speak directly to him...I am ignored. Like seriously.....who does he think he is? Shame, shame shame...on you. Based on this order (carry out) IF we ever go back we will eat in the restaurant because this order would have definitely been taken back to the counter. My ole man agrees with me..he is pretty upset at the quality of food this go around. My dogs are enjoying it though. $25 to feed the...
Read moreFrank's Pizza has been here for around 30 years, and is sort of a fixture around these parts. Their pizza is good (I like just the plain old cheese pizza,) and their subs and lasagna are pretty good. I have family from up north, and it's a tradition to get a couple of pizzas when they roll in.
I would put five stars just for good food and nostalgia, but the service was pretty bad the last two times I went. A stark contrast to "the good old days." Granted, one time they were busy and the other time they had a power outage that they were recovering from, but they barely acknowledged me while I was picking up and paying for my food.
They do have dine in and carryout, and I believe they have beer on tap but I don't drink so I'm not sure. Plenty of parking.
In a nutshell, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all with the good food, but the service is hit or miss. Go in with thick skin and an empty belly, and...
Read moreIf you want great NYC style pizza then you gotta go to Franks Pizza! If you've had pizza in NYC you know as soon as you walk in that this is the real deal.
It's a small spot in a strip plaza. There are quite a few empty stores there but the fact that Franks Pizza has been open there for 40 years should tell you something. The pizza was delicious! They have a great menu. I ordered a couple of regular calzones. They were everything but regular! Delicious and huge! And the prices are more than fair.
There's plenty of seating, so if you have a group of friends this is great. The place is very clean and even has some arcade games and a jukebox! The service was great and they had a steady stream of customers which is always a good sign. I have found my...
