Today I can confidently say I experienced the worst customer service in my entire life.
We frequently come to Devon for Indian and Pakistani food, but never has my family ever been treated which such blatant disrespect. Working retail, I know how businesses should interact and handle situations, but at Karahi Corner I was astonished by how quickly an unorganized business was to turn a seating situation that was not a huge problem into a full blown scene.
We saw it was busy and called to see if there was any availability. They said call back in fifteen minutes as they were full. We called back and asked if we can make a reservation, but they told us to come in and wait because they can't guarantee a table and do not take reservation over the phone. We didnt mind waiting, but coming in it was evident that there was no clear system of seating. After inquiring up front when we would be seated, the man (the owner's son, Hamza) told us that there was a party of 4 and 5 waiting to be seated. During the forty minute wait, several different groups walked in and were seated. Toward the middle of the wait, one table was done and a woman was waiting for her bill. My mom asked if we can have the table and the owners son said okay. But ten minutes pass and no one brought the bill back to table we were told that we can sit at. At this point one group that came in 15 minutes after us consisting of 3 adults and several children were seated. The man from this group went to the front desk while my mom was inquiring about table for a second or third time and said that he needed a table for his party of however many. So after being told our table was ready, and not being allowed to sit at an empty table because we claimed one, we were obviously frustrated.
At this point we all went to see what was going on with the situation, and mentioned that this party was seated before us even though they did not make a reservation and came in after us. But the owner's son insisted that they made reservations, which we knew was not true. When we said we were waiting first but havent been seated he said it is because we "claimed" the one table from before, but they were lagging so much with it. But the way the owner's son was behaving was so incredibly rude I was left flabbergasted.
First he tells my mother to stop showing her finger to him (which she didn't), ironically while shoving his finger in my mom's face. He told us that if we are not happy, we are free to leave. After waiting FORTY minutes and then being told to leave is beyond ridiculous. My mom tells him that we are definitely eating here and then leaving. Then the owner's son says he'll call the police (a tad bit over dramatic if you ask me).
At this point there is yelling going back and forth and the owner comes out and tries to appease the situation. All the while his son is walking to the back on his phone, apparently calling the police. The owner tells us to ignore him and sits us at a table (the one we "claimed"), which at this point is finally cleared. He personally took our order and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was okay, nothing special. You can find the same stuff anywhere on Devon. But having to deal with such a rude, despicable, and arrogant man ruined our day. So unless you have a humiliation fetish, I suggest you avoid Karahi Corner, because the owner's son will leave you feeling like the lowest...

I am not able to go lower than one star. From the beginning till the time we get out of the restaurant, what my experience was, I will share with you.
Tonight I took my friend with me to have dinner. My experience stared with dirty glass. Table of four but only three chairs was at the table.
Men's restroom was dirty. Wet floor, NO soap or paper towels. Garbage bin was full. Near by light broken dry wall by the switch.
Chef's was some wired guy. I am Not prejudice. Full of tattoos. Very loud music was playing. Some guy literally has to request for turn it down.
Karahi is a special dish. Non Desi can not able to cook. That's not chef's fault. That's owners choice. But at least think before you allow some one to cook in your restaurant.
Very bad experience with full order of baby goat karahi. Half cook meat. Meet was very old. You can tell because it was very dry and light color almost looks like chicken meat. Very plain food no spice or salt. Seems and taste different from one piece of meat to another.
May Allah SWT give them some vision and thoughtful ideas, after this is not so good...

ABSOLUTE BEST IN CHICAGO.
Chicken Tikka is majestic AF. The Chicken Kahari legitimately TOUCHED MY SOUL with its deliciousness. No matter who you are, whether you live near by, just got here from Pakistan, are driving through the neighborhood, or are a strange gangly guy like me who is looking for different food experiences, going to Kahari Corner is an absolute MUST for the health of your being and development of yourself as a human.
They get their meat fresh EVERY DAY from a butcher/market 5 buildings down and to my knowledge are the only cook-to-serve place in little India (aka they don't do big batches that sit all day under a heat lamp). They cook your meal while you watch, fresh out of the kahari (same thing as a wok pretty much) every time. Home made naan that is the perfect amount of chewy and flakey. And the guys working there are absolute heroes and the nicest dudes in the world to the weird & awkward me, of course not knowing how to pronounce anything or what to order.
I plan to come every week now to get my fix and drag everyone I know and and everyone they know to this F*ing beauty of a restaurant. BLESS...
