PALMHOUSE — Local services in Evanston Township

I am not exaggerating when I say that Palmhouse saved our wedding. Due to circumstances outside our control, we lost our initial wedding/reception venue just six weeks before our wedding. On the advice of a friend in the wedding industry we reached out to Palmhouse, as they were a new venue. I'm so thankful we ended up at Palmhouse, they made our day so incredibly magical. India responded to our panicked email within a few hours and was so incredibly kind, reassuring, and helpful.

Before I talk about the space itself, I do want to hype up India and the team at Palmhouse. First off, she was incredibly flexible. While we rented the space for 12 hours, she was flexible with decor drop off, and pickup. India was always prompt in response to inquiries and was happy to be helpful in any way possible.

Now to talk about the space itself: Palmhouse is gorgeous. The outdoor space allows you to have your ceremony against their incredibly striking teal wall, or a red brick backdrop on the other side. The lighting is perfect for late summer, and the outdoor patio space is also great for cocktails. Indoors the two rooms allow for a flexible cocktail space, and dancing space. It also includes two prep rooms for each member of the wedding party. You can see from the photos but the teal and brick interior is both striking and unique. It feels like a place where you want to celebrate.

Palmhouse does have an exclusive liquor vendor but don't worry, they are outstanding. Hardly Shaken made us amazing cocktails, had a wonderful staff, and even gave us a booze tasting (don't drive, Janek makes a strong drink)

There are a million other things I could say but this is what was most important: India and her team genuinely cared about our event. On just 6 weeks notice they helped us have the exact wedding we wanted. They wanted it to be special, and that sort of care radiates through the entire venue and team. We had such a great wedding at Palmhouse!! Amber, India, and Janek were all wonderful to work with. They all helped our dream come true. Our guests had great things to say about the venue. Additionally, their flexible vendor policy allowed us to customize aspects of our day to fit our vision & budget. Their costs include venue rental & bar services, as they require you to use their in-house bar service - which was AMAZING. Our guests loved their drinks & the best part was that there was never a long line at the bar, which no one likes at a wedding!

The only downside was the communication. The month leading up to the wedding was GREAT, they were super responsive and really helpful. However, we felt it was a little hard to reach them in between booking and the month leading up. Questions would come up & it would take them quite awhile to respond. I know this is because they're busy with lots of events, but I think they would be smart to hire more staff to keep up with their growing popularity.

Overall, this was a great venue and we were so happy with it. It was a great size for our 130 guests but can easily hold more. I definitely recommend Palmhouse for those wanting to get married just...

WE LOVE PALMHOUSE! Seriously cannot recommend India, Janek, and the rest of the Palmhouse team enough. We were lucky to book our June 2022 wedding at Palmhouse in early 2021. India was so patient while we came in to visit so many times, answered our many, many questions about logistics, and really took amazing care of us. Janek and his team were AWESOME! We got so many compliments on the service all night. Janek met with us before the wedding to plan our signature drinks and we had the most fun trying cocktails and wines on a Tuesday night - HIGHLY recommend! As an Evanstonian, I really wanted to have our wedding reception somewhere local and Palmhouse fit the bill from every angle - beautiful venue that could accommodate our 200-ish guest count no problem, great outdoor space, beautiful (and big) bar, the community fridge that supports residents who need extra food, and a commitment to supporting other local/woman-owned businesses :). We are just so happy with our choice to have our wedding reception at Palmhouse, now I'm just bummed now that we don't have another Palmhouse party to look forward to. 10/10 recommend!!!
