This was our second experience at this restaurant. We went here a few weeks ago for the first time with my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. The table had a pizza, garlic cheese bread, wings, and a bacon cheeseburger. I don't eat wings, so I didn't try those. The pizza and the bread were amazing, though! Also, the bite of the burger I had, which is made to order, was super yummy, just like the ones my restaurant was famous for. It was so nice to have a taste of home without having to cook it myself. We loved it so much that we returned a second time for a burger. For some reason, they were good, but I liked them better the first time. However, with that being said, isn't someone else's food always better? What I mean by that is the first time I tried it, the burger was my boyfriends'. This time, it was mine. If you've ever been in a relationship, then you know what I'm talking about. I need to mention, I also had their sweet potato fries, only after friendly bantering with the server as to whether or not they'd be really good or overcooked nasty ones that you get at some places. OMGOSH! They were sooo yummy! They weren't overcooked; they weren't hand made by the restaurant, but that's alright! They bought a high-quality product and you will not be disappointed! All in all, when we're out and about, we will surely be back! They have a very well-rounded menu, kids menu, and if you partake in drinking, a nice little bar area. They are kid friendly, clean, and Courteous. We definitely recommend this restaurant and encourage you to try them out! I don't give many 5 star ratings for restaurants, but I do...
Read moreI recently ordered the tavern thin pizza with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and jalapeños from Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom in Rogers, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! I opted for a well-done crust, and it turned out to be absolutely perfect. With every bite, I experienced a delightful balance of crispness and tenderness that made the pizza truly enjoyable.
As someone who has spent a significant amount of time in Detroit, I can confidently say that I have a discerning palate for Detroit-style deep-dish pizza. When the Detroit Deep dish becomes available, you can count on me to provide an authentic review. Having tasted the original from Buddy's in Detroit for many years, I consider myself somewhat of an expert in this area, albeit with a touch of humor.
Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom in Rogers has definitely won me over with their tavern thin pizza. The flavors were fantastic, and the attention to detail in the crust's texture was impeccable. I highly recommend trying their pizzas for an exceptional dining experience that won't disappoint.
Thank you to the talented team at Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom for consistently delivering top-notch pizzas. I can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu options. Keep up the...
Read moreLet me start by saying, as a true Chicagoan, there aren't any "real" Chicago-style pizza places here. Gusano's? Nope. Old Chicago? Nuh-uh. Tomato sauce on top of the pizza does not make it Chicago-style (i.e. you have to have that buttery, sweet, croissant-like crust - not just regular ol' crust with sauce on top). The atmosphere os Old Chicago is very nice. It is relatively new construction and it has a sports bar feel to it. I wouldn't dock any stars there. But when it comes to the pizza... Now I get it, 2 stars is reallllly low and is not my typical rating style, but I'm giving it 2 stars because I not only visited there once and was disappointed in the lackluster pizza but, not being a quitter, went back yet again with the family and was equally unimpressed. When you leave your visit with a take home box - and you dined with TWO teenagers, that tells ya something. The staff is very nice. The restaurant is clean. But if what you're going there for is pizza - let alone Chicago pizza - be prepared to be extremely disappointed. The non-Chicago Chicago pizza, in and of itself, is ok. It's not great, it's not even categorizable as good. It's just ok. And who has the funds to go out...
