PLEASE READ HOW AMAZING THESE PEOPLE ARE!!! It's very long, but I had to tell my story! I've had a clubbed foot and an anatomical short leg, since birth. Over the years, I'd developed a severe limp, which caused a chain reaction; giving me bad lower back pain, unlevel hips, and visibly unlevel shoulders. I'd learned to expect, and accept the pain to increase over the years, and it has. A lot. So much so that it'd wake me up at night. "Unfixable", said my brain.
About 4 months ago, my wife slipped her L5 disc at work, and the pain & stiffness got so bad that she couldn't even get to the bathroom without assistance. Luckily, my wife had the wisdom to find a chiropractor, rather than go to a hospital, where they probably would have just given her pain meds and tell her to be on bed rest and ice it for a month.
Within a week, my wife was walking fine with minimal pain. Within a month, she was back to normal!
During my wife's first few visits, I'd have to drive her to the appointments and help her walk to the exam room (we're in our early 30's BTW lol). As Dr. Chris was giving my wife her spinal adjustment, he said "Hey, so tonight we're having a 'vital shift dinner'. It's a free dinner where we educate you further on the benefits of spinal health, and if you come with your wife this evening, not only will you get a full free meal, but I'll give you a free evaluation, x-rays included, and I'll give you a free spinal adjustment".
In my mind, I was skeptical, and saying to myself "Dude, I have a short leg, the back pain is inevitable. At best, it'd be a very minor betterment, that I'd eventually have to sink in a lot of money for. It's not worth it. I can't be fixed....buuuuut.... it's free? What the heck, I have nothing to lose". So we agreed to attend the dinner.
After the office closed, we sat through a VERY educational talk about how important spinal health is, and learned a lot of interesting facts.
After the dinner, Dr. Chris got me x-rayed, we sat down and chatted for a good long while, about EVERYTHING going on with my body, and he confidently assured me, saying "I can get you where you need to be."
Again, in my head, I was like "yeah, maybe after 100 visits lol".
I layed down on the adjustment table, and within about 3 minutes of gently clicking numerous parts of my back, he said "Okay! That's it! How about you take a quick walk down the hallway and back?"
I got up, and walked down the hallway.... WITH NO LIMP!!! & MY PAIN....WAS GONE!!!!
I'm a 36yo construction worker, and my God, it took EVERYTHING in me not to start sobbing out of pure joy and euphoria!!! I was BLOWN AWAY!!! After just ONE adjustment, I can feel... like THIS?!?! šš„°
My wife could see that I was barely containing myself, and Dr. Chris said "So how do you feel?", to which I shakily responded, "I feel like I'm 16 again!!!!"
At that moment, I knew these people had a gift from the heavens, and I was SOLD!!! I went to sleep that night, and like every other night, I woke up, but this time.... I HAD NO PAIN!!!! All the emotions that I tried to suppress in the office, came flooding in, and there I was, in my bed at 1:30am, in tears....from absolute joy & amazement, whilst trying not to wake my wife š
So, yes, I still continue to go, as often as possible, because guys.... IT'S WORTH IT!!! If you think YOU CAN'T BE FIXED, JUST TRY! What more have you got to lose?
On top of all of this, EVERY MEMBER of the staff are absolutely phenomenal. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a two-time home-birthing mom who received weekly chiropractic adjustments at Ignite throughout the entire second pregnancy, and Iām so glad I did! Compared to my first pregnancy, my second had less pain, and the labor went substantially more smoothly, which has made a night and day difference for my postpartum recovery and newborn experience.
To elaborate, during this second pregnancy, I started to develop pubic bone pain. It got to the point that it hurt to even cross my ankles, but within just a couple of adjustments, that pain was completely eliminated. I also received a lot of relief from adjustments targeting my round ligaments, which helped me feel less tense and gave my baby the room to spin around in the womb.
The ability for my baby to move in the womb was probably the most important way in which chiropractic care helped me. My first baby was occiput posterior (or sunny side up) throughout the entire pregnancy and labor. This meant I had nothing but back labor with my first, and when I started to experience a cervical lip (I was stuck at 9.5cm for two hours!), I couldn't clear it by myself. My midwife had me get out of the birthing pool to try a variety of labor positions, but ultimately she had to physically pull my cervix forward to get the baby to enter the birth canal. Then, when the baby was born, her bad positioning caused a fourth degree tear, which meant I had to transfer to a hospital to receive stitches and had to miss out on a lot of the benefits of a home birth like the "golden hour," antibiotic-free recovery, etc.
Because of frequent chiropractic adjustments, however, my second baby wasn't as constricted by tight ligaments and therefore spun around a lot in the womb throughout the pregnancy, even though she was just as low in the pelvis as her sister. (Sometimes I could feel this baby spin right after an adjustment, which was so cool!) During labor, we were quickly able to move this baby from an occiput posterior position to an occiput anterior position within just a few contractions using the Miles Circuit. Afterwards, during labor, I didn't need any coaching on what positions would progress labor because I instinctively moved on my own. With my first delivery, every position felt wrong, and I was unable to think about how to make it better because I was in pain. With this delivery, I still felt a LOT of painālet me be clearābut I also felt like I was in control of my body: I could properly understand its cues and respond accordingly. I did have another cervical lip during this labor, but just as soon as we noticed it, I instinctively sprung into a position I had never used or seen before and fully dilated without any intervention at all.
The very reason I chose home birth over hospital birth was so that I could have control over my experience, and because chiropractic care gave my baby the freedom to move in the womb, it thereby empowered me to have that control and sense of peace I was seeking.
Ultimately, then, after a labor of only five and a half hours, I was able to achieve all of my birthing goals: this baby was born in the water of a birthing pool in the position I had planned with no more tearing than my midwife could repair at home. My baby got to nurse straightaway, which meant she didn't experience the jaundice or the concerning weight loss that her sister did, and I canāt stress enough how wonderful it was to rest in my own bed with no one but my family and my small team of midwives after delivery.
Oh, actually, we did have one more visitor: Dr. Natalie stopped by to give both me and my baby a postpartum adjustment, which felt great for me, and which helped my baby (who was born with very hunched shoulders) loosen up enough to nurse more comfortably on both sides. Iām super grateful for the Ignite Team in helping me achieve my birthing goals, and my family will be continuing our care with them for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI gave Ignite Chiropractic two chances to do one simple thing: adjust my spine. Instead, I encountered a manipulative sales funnel masquerading as healthcare.
First Visit: After spending an hour or so in traffic driving to their office and completing extensive intake paperwork and scans, I was stunned to walk away without a single adjustment. Instead, I was pressured into booking a āfollow-up consultation.ā That was red flag #1.
Second Visit: No adjustment would be provided unless I committed to a $3,000 ātreatment planāādespite having insurance. Had they disclosed this bait-and-switch approach upfront, I never would have walked through their door.
Arrogant & Impersonal: The founding owners exude condescension, treating patients like revenue streams rather than human beings. The practice runs like a high-pressure sales operationāimpersonal, mechanical, and utterly devoid of genuine care.
The āAdjustmentā: When I finally received what they claimed was an adjustment, it involved a spring-loaded tool that resembled a miniature pogo stick. They tapped it on random areas, including my shoe and belt. It was gimmicky, ineffective, and bore no resemblance to the skilled, hands-on chiropractic care Iāve trusted for over 20 years in Chicago. Frankly, I doubt they could perform a proper manual adjustment if they tried.
Save Yourself the Trouble: If you value transparent, patient-centered care, look elsewhere. Ignite Chiropractic is a predatory sales operation, not a healing practice. Zero...
