Krispy Kreme — Restaurant in Rome

I ordered 6 donuts as I was passing through Rome. I had to repeat my order multiple times, and yet they still didn’t put what I ordered in the box. I didn’t figure this out until I got home 30 minutes from this location. Then Lashandra(not sure if that is how you spell her name) proceeded to argue with me over the phone when I called and told her that they gave me a mini donut even though I didn’t order any mini donuts, as well as not giving me the correct donuts. She said she completed my order and she didn’t put any mini donuts in it. I explained that I took a photo and you can clearly see the size difference. I also measured the donuts and one of them was about 2 inches while all of the other donuts had varied sizes over 3 inches. She told me to come back tomorrow, and she would give me what I didn’t get. While I appreciate the offer to replace, I am not going to drive 30 minutes and waste gas for just a donut or two. This location could benefit from some quality assurance and possible retraining.

I’m not sure if Krispy Kreme has just gone down hill over the years or if it is just this location. I don’t get to visit often, because I don’t have any locations near my home. Too bad this rating system forces you to put at least 1 star, because I would give this Krispy Kreme no stars if I could. First problem: the doors were shut with a sign outside citing that customers could only purchase from the drive thru due to a staff shortage... despite the fact that we saw a full crew inside the building just lounging around. That was nothing compared to actually trying to make our order; not only was the drive thru line moving too slow, but when we finally got to the intercom, the girl taking our order kept interrupting us, saying she couldn't hear us. So I tried speaking slowly... only to be met with complete silence, so we spoke up a bit louder, and she said, and I quote: "well I don't need to be giving you donuts if you're gonna yell like that", in the most rude tone I've ever heard. After that we just drove away without anything: to add insult to injury, as we drove away, we saw customers walking into the building! We will certainly not be returning to this location, and will ensure to let as many people know about the awful service we received. The "Hot" sign wasn't on when I went but the doughnuts were fresh. I got the newest Fall doughnuts. Spiced Apple Filled, Pecan maple Cheesecake filled doughnut and the Brownie batter topped doughnut with Fall sprinkles. Okay....Loved the Brownie batter. It was sweet but the right amount of chocolate saltiness! That was my favorite. The maple pecan topping was delicious!! Not a cheesecake fan...sorry! The Apple one was ehh! The outside of the doughnut had all the flavor!! The apple pie filling was tasteless. Tasted nothing like apple pie filling. It was canned apple pie filling with no flavor or sweetness. The drive through was empty! The place looked clean outside except for the shirtless guy outside smoking cigarettes. Not complaining about the man but the smell of cigarettes was STRONG! I only noticed because I have allergies and cigs are an allergen of mine. The young man that waited on me was funny and very personable! He told me did the 1 CHIP CHALLENGE and didn't cry!! That's right dude!!! Boss up and don't cry.....like a G!!! 😂
