We went to the alley on Turner McCall to enjoy a much needed family fun day, today. I have to say, we were very unhappy with our experience. We were at our lane for maybe 10 minutes and our lane was giving us some major issues. Basically roll the ball, knock down some pins and the game would completely stop every single time. No further activity. We were running back and forth and had made multiple reports to staff within only minutes of our arrival. I explained I was frustrated and that we were considering turning in our shoes and leaving at that point. We were told "You act like this is our fault". "These issues are VERY COMMON". "Turn in your shoes, that's fine." (Maybe not their fault it was happening, but it was very much an inconvenience to not be able to play and to have to ask for help after each and every single roll.. and coming back to the counter each time, after only just arriving... FORGIVE ME as I've never used the bowling phones prior to today because I wasn't familiar enough to notice they were there). Maybe pointing out to us that we could call it in rather than having to walk back and forth every few minutes, from the start, would've gone a long ways. Maybe trying to be a little more understanding of our frustration would've gone a long ways. Rather, the young man's frustration with me, overpowered my own growing frustration. The lady that was working was very, very friendly to us. She told the guy to move us to another lane to see if that would help and I heard him say "No, they want to turn their shoes in and go instead." At this point, we no longer felt welcomed, anyhow. We decided it wasn't worth the hassle and frustration and decided to turn our shoes in and find something else to do as a family instead. The kids were very sad and terribly upset. We left. As we were leaving, my husband said "Let's go check out the one across town.. we haven't been to it in years." So, we came across town to this bowling alley and my goodness...all the staff were so amazing! It was also so much cleaner, nicer and quieter. We were practically the only people here while the other alley was totally maxed out. As we were leaving, we noticed it was picking up with the younger crowd moving in for the weekend fun. I have to say.. the two gentleman that were working today, went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time there today. We will most certainly be going back! These guys were AMAZING. They were so attentive and for gave us proper explanations and instructions for equipment functions. It really made our kids day, which in turn.. made our day!! We will not be going back to the Turner McCall location but we are looking forward to our next visit to the West Rome location at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, it gives you what it says it does. A place to bowl and get some food and drinks. The staff is not exceptionally knowledgeable or helpful, not on the day that I was there anyway. I'm not saying that the staff is bad we just personally didn't have the best experience. It was our first time going. We have the place to ourselves for a little while until the only party that did come in in the next 2 or 3 hours was put right next to us unfortunately out of 23 other rows to choose from it wasn't convenient for either party. If you do want food they can only cook two pizzas at a time so you have to wait for about 20-30 minutes to an hour if you want more than one pizza. They did not have any small child's shoes. They gave are middle child smaller shoes than they could give to our youngest which is 3. They require the children to wear shoes if they are bowling no matter their age even if they don't have the shoes that fit them...It just seemed like the person we dealt with was not really aware of the surroundings. For four pizzas, three children and one adult bowling, for only one game, we spent $60. No matter the age it's $3.50 per game per person and then $2.50 per pair of shoes. You pay for the socks up front if you want socks. They are an extra $2-3 a pair. Bring your own socks! I would never go for the arcade part of this adventure, but the bowling alley was decent and served its purpose. They do provide slides for the littles. If you don't know how to play, the game will not automatically keep score. We will go back for the bowling but the arcade does not offer much of anything. There are multiple pool tables to use, they do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy opinion of this facility was immediate disgust as soon as we pulled into the parking lot and saw a man in his late 30's early 40's urinating on the exterior wall by the overgrowth at the edge of the parking lot. As we debated going in or not, the man went over to two young adults (one male and one female) and they began laughing as if they k ew each other. It was obvious the older gentleman was unkept and was out of place with the younger couple. I know not to make judgements based on people's appearances, but in the back of my mind, an alarm was going g off screaming "DRUG DEAL!" The kids really wanted to bowl, so we moved to another parking spot, right by the road and as close to the building and as close to the building as you can get. The employees were friendly and our family had fun. It was around $20 for the 3 of us to bowl on a Sunday (included the mandatory shoes). We got the only open lane available at the time (we didn't know that Sunday was for league bowling and the majority of lanes were reserved). All I can say is that thank goodness the bumpers were up because without them, no one would have knocked down any pins. Maybe we just got the only bad lane I hope, because it was not flat and straight. The facility is in a real need of an update. Parts are broken off the ball returns, exit signs are filthy, carpet is drab, paint is blah. It just looks old and tired...
