Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Roseburg

We went on a Sunday about 330pm there was maybe 5 couples in there place was dead. We waited what seemed about 10 mins before anyone even noticed myself and 3 children. Except the chick at the bar who made eye contact multiple times. Anyways, we ignored it sat down looked at the menu for about 20 mins before anyone came to our table. Our server ended up being the bartender, ok here we go, drinks ordered came in about 10 mins things seemed to be looking up. We order appetizers then wait about 15 mins for those. My children are growing impatient we have no napkins, straws or plates. My daughter spills a drink and the waitress/bartender still didn't bring any napkins or offer to assist just walked by use trying to clean up a mess. She finally comes back with napkins to take our order as Im watching her have multiple conversations, the couple behind us growing ancy as well and a few that had walked out at that point, the vibe was off. We finish appetizers and wait for order to be placed still. Finally place the order get some napkins from another waiter. We wait patiently now. I am watching waitress after waitress come in and out and nothing they all ignored every customer in there to have side bar conversations with their coworkers. Now the manager is going in and out doing absolutely nothing but bs with the bartender at this point I'm appauld worst service ever! I now watch what looked to be the other manager walk out with a dishwasher apron on and 1 glove takes the other glove off and wipes his nose folds the apron and then continues to walk around touching cups and drinks.... grosssssss!!!!! We now get our food it has been under the warmer so long the sauce on the wings is dried so hard the chicken wings are hard and I mean fried chicken hard! I grabbed a waiter said Im not paying for this kind of food thats absolutely disgusting. They offered to remake we declined. The manager comes out now asks us again in which we decline and I express again I will not be paying for that. No apology no can I get u anything else nothing just walked away. I was appauld at the level of dismissive every single staff member seemed to have, I work in food as my profession and this restaurant is absolutely disgusting food, cleanliness, guest service, u name it! Staff looked miserable! We will not be going back which is really disappointing too many restaurants now dont care and are dying in this town! Add this to the list, avoid if u want a real meal!!!! BTW we started at 3:10pm and didn't recieve our food until 4:40pm!...

I was there for a meeting to fill out paper work with a special worker she seemed to have loved her tea that she had ordered!! My son and i had a pina colada strawberry swirl smoothie and a Chicken Quesadilla minus the pico! The smoothie I can say is by far one of the best blended fruit drinks I have had like that since orange Julius closed down!! The Quesadilla also was so delicious 😋 my son wasn't eating much while we were there which had me a little sad that maybe it wasn't to good, so I took a couple bites and boy i was so wrong!!! It was very good i took it home with us when we were finished and he ate it all the way home and in our room until it was gone and of course i had to make him share!! 😊 The service was great the waitress was on point she asked us what seemed to be the perfect amount of times if we were okay if we needed anything and if everything was going great! The waitress always had a smile and an upbeat attitude which made me feel very welcome and the staff gave off very welcoming and friendly vibes!!! I can honestly say i would love more than anything to come back and order another smoothie and have the same experience all over again!! I was always hesitant on coming there thinking the food wouldn't be that good or that it would be way to expensive but I feel like its really not to much of a difference price wise than Denny's but the food I ordered I can say was amazing and it was very wonderful!! In the 31 years I've been alive born and raised in this town I've maybe ate here 2 times i think prior to this time and this time truly made me want to come back!! So Applebee's if you see this I want you and your staff to know to keep up the good work you lady's and gentlemen truly have got it going on!!😁 Thank you very much from my 2 year old and I and I'll give a thank you from our worker that we met up with there! Our server Matthew, was extremely friendly to the point my wife and I talked about just leaving before our food or drinks were even brought out to us. He uses terms like "boss" and "my lady" (referring to my wife and I) that immediately turned us off and then got down, almost putting his chin on our table and asks us for our I.D because we ordered alcoholic drinks. Then as soon we went to actually pull our I.D out he stopped us and told us he didn't have to see them as long as we said we were old enough and had ID on us. His reasoning did not make any sense behind it. Then he had the bartender bring our drinks after about 15 minutes which ended up being just my wife's drink, with no straw. I guess now company policy is you as a customer have to request a straw. So we were told. So after about 20 minutes of being in the restaurant I finally had my beer in front of me and my wife had a straw in her drink. I understand checking on your customers to make sure they are satisfied, but he would check on you every couple minutes before you could even start to enjoy your food or experience. Every time he would come over he would touch my shoulder as if we we friends. We also saw on multiple occasions that he would get in the booth with the customers and take their orders. Ours were only single size seats and assume that's why he didn't with us. Overall, the food was good and our order was all correct, but the experience Matthew gave us was unwanted, unprofessional, and overly friendly. I'm giving a 2 star review only because the order was correct and the food was ok aswell.

The young kid, Bailey I think is his name, was all over the place bussing tables, greeting customers, seating customers, and getting waters when customers first came in. He was awesome. While Matthew multiple times was chatting with customers and staff for much much longer...
