Terrible experience — constantly changing prices and terms after we arrived.
I saw a post online that said their king crab was $19.99/lb, which seemed like a great deal. I called the restaurant to confirm before going, and they told me it was actually $43/lb — still reasonable, so we decided to go. When we got there, I asked how much for king crab three ways. The server said $43/lb, and asked us to choose how we wanted it cooked. We picked fried rice with crab shell, steamed crab legs, and garlic-style crab meat.
While we were making our selections, the server kept rolling his eyes and responded to our questions with an extremely impatient tone. When I asked about the fried rice, saying another staff member mentioned a scallop fried rice, he snapped, “That’s just fried white rice,” in a very dismissive way. I was confused — it was my first time there, how would I know that “white rice” means “scallop fried rice”?
Then he brought over a crab and said it was 10 lbs. I asked if they could weigh it in front of us. He acted like I was insane and said “We never weigh it for customers. No one has ever asked. We will absolutely not weigh it.” His tone was completely incredulous, as if my request was unreasonable.
Even though I was already uncomfortable, I still stayed — I really wanted to try the king crab. But then he came back again and said each of the three cooking styles would cost extra, something like $3 more per pound for each. That added up to a lot more money. I asked, “Why didn’t you tell me this earlier when I asked about the three-way price?” He rolled his eyes again and said, “I’m telling you now. The person who gave you the earlier price isn’t a waiter, he does cleaning. He doesn’t know the prices.”
I was speechless then I asked about the geoduck, and he said it was $19.99/lb and could be served two ways. I said I wanted it steamed and raw, and he said no — it could only be steamed or raw, plus one fried style. Again, very different from other places I’ve been where steamed + raw is normal. I gave in and picked one steamed, one fried. But after I decided, he suddenly told me that since the geoduck was a “special price,” and the king crab was also a “special price,” the prices conflicted and I’d have to pay $29 or $39/lb instead of $19.99.
At that point I gave up and said I didn’t want the geoduck anymore. I asked if we could do lobster noodles instead, and he said yes — but then changed his mind again and said the lobster noodles were also “special price” and would require an extra charge.
I have never experienced a restaurant that changes prices and rules this much after you sit down. It felt like they were just making things up as they went to squeeze more money out of us. Constant eye-rolling, rude responses, and surprise upcharges at every turn. Absolutely...
Read moreI want to give this place zero star if I could, because the lady who works there ( short dyed hair, mid age, wear white shirt everytime when I went there) who provided such bad and disrespectful service every single time I went there . Today, I had breakfast dim sum at the sitdown dinner room next door with family, which we all loved to go there, service 90% good, ( sometimes at the weekends they got overwhelmed) We loved the food, tastes good! And I am 7months pregnant, I always craving the sticky rice wraps in lotus leaf糯米鸡, so I went to Thr shop to get 5 orders of the sticky rice (which is ten pieces) This is what I want to complain about: First, I went in told this lady what I want, she told me they don't have that many ready, but they do have in frozen, do I still want it, I said yes,no problem. She came back with a bag of the different types of sticky rice wrap in leafs( 粽子, 我要的是糯米鸡) so I told her she grabbed the wrong one, she started shouting at me and said" 有无搞错! 明明你话粽! 真烦! Seriously? You said Zongzi, you are annoy!" Then she went back in to the kitchen to get me the right one. Her co-workers even laughed, I literally told her clearly what I want, her coworkers even said they heard what I ordered is correct. Anyway, I just want what I want and get out ,I tired of dealing this woman every single time I came here. Then my mom went in, add an order of half BBQ duck, a medium size of tofu Togo, so my mom asked for the prune sauce for the duck, she gave me one, I ask her for another one, because we are having half duck, this tiny sauce is not enough. She started shouting at me about that I ask too much, half duck only got one sauce, blah blah..she gave me the second one, but still mumbling while we walking out the door!
When I paid for the money, total is 44 with some change, for all happens I didn't check the price, I just paid. Then when I open the bags of the 糯米鸡, sticky rice wraps in lotus leaf, she gave me 10 orders, which is 20 pieces of that. It wasn't right amount that I ordered, but it's ok, I will eat it anyway, but still, another mistake for her!
I worked for the service district as a bartender, I understand the long hours rush, on the feet, frustrated, but no customers deserve any type of disrespect and shouting like she does!! A lot of people can provide better working...
Read moreMy family recently came here to celebrate my dad's birthday. It's our first time here for dinner, but we've been here countless times for dim sum which is pretty solid. They were doing a king crab promotion at $29.99/lb. So my parents who love king crab wanted to go check it out. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night, but the king crab promotion was probably what drove in the crowd. Service was very slow given there was only a few waiters working. We ordered the kind crab, and our waitress brought the crab out for us to see, stating that it's 8.8 lbs. It's not my first time having king crab, and I've bought live whole king crabs plenty of times from the fish market. The crab our waitress brought out didn't look anywhere near 8.8 lbs. I was pretty skeptical about the weight of the crab, it looked maybe 7 lbs at most to me. Then she asked if we wanted to cook it 3-ways, and suggested noodles in the shell, egg yolk for the knuckles, and garlic vermicelli steamed legs. We excitedly agreed to her suggestion. She then proceeded to recommend a red grouper fish, a chicken dish, and a couple of veggie dishes. The food came out very slow because they happened to have a big party in another section of the restaurant. We were starving by the time our food came. We had to wait almost 20 mins between each dish. And the king crab we received was beyond disappointing. The crab dishes were super small, no way the same crab our waitress showed us. And definitely not even 6 lbs of crab. They absolutely pulled a switcheroo on us. It's a total scam, and we're disgusted by the level of greed and dishonesty. Also, all the suggestions she made for the 3-way crab dishes was an additional upcharge that she didn't bother to mention. The additional was $44! And on top of that, she didn't mention the market price of the red grouper, which was $47.99/lb. The fish itself was $115! The rest of the food was unremarkable, and the veggies almost inedible. They also automatically tacked on 18% gratuity. So our whole meal was outrageous and disappointing....
