Listen, I don't know what kind of wizard defined the menu at Taco John's, but I'd like to speak with them and possibly press charges. The tacos taste like they were put together by someone blindfolded and on a tight deadline. Every bite is a mystery, but not in a "wow, so flavorful!" way. More like, "Wait, is this... supposed to be warm?" The burrito? A beautiful metaphor for broken dreams-loose, sad, and falling apart before it even gets to my mouth. It needed therapy so I hugged it to my stomach and it immediately filed a complaint.
Potato Olés? More like regret nuggets. They taste like seasoning spread across the kitchen. They're salty in a "you're dehydrated now" kind of way, and yet-somehow-youll eat every last one. Because you're not strong. None of us is.
BUT LET ME TELL YOU ONE THING: The people at Taco John's? Absolute angels in a warzone. These folks deserve raises, medals, and possibly their own Netflix show. The cashier smiled like I was the first person whoever ordered food correctly. The guy at the window called me "boss" and meant it. The crew moved like a well-oiled machine powered entirely but caffeine and sheer will. They made me feel seen, loved, and mildly forgiven for eating what I was about to eat. The food was trying to fight me down deserved absolutely one star. Credit where credit is due is by the people who are entirely by the heroes behind the counter who serve hot chaos with...
Read moreI ordered through the app today and it was about 2:20 when I was starting to place my order. Wanted to order the online offer of the $5 meal deal. This was the only way to order it was through it app online. When I went to pay, it stated that there was not enough time to prepare for 2:30. Ended up choosing the 2:45pm time slot. I got to the restaurant shortly after 2:30 and let the staff know I had an online order and I was going to eat inside. The supervisor assist said she didn't see an order. I showed her my confirmation email and said they couldn't do anything until it was paid for and sent. I explained that it was paid for and a confirmation number and email. All she said was sorry and went to the back. 15 minutes later, she brings my food out. I don't understand why they couldn't do anything with my order after showing them what I ordered and why they couldn't start it until 12 minutes later. I will not return since other restaurants that do online orders don't give me...
Read moreI've been going to this location for many years now. I've never had a bad meal here. Best deals are on Tuesdays (Taco Tuesday), hard shell tacos and bean burritos under a dollar, soft shells are $1.19 I believe. Potato Oles are always the best, and I also highly recommend the meat and potato burrito and the super potato oles. Yes, sometimes the service is a bit slow, especially in the drive-thru and on Tuesdays of course. I find it much easier to just park the car, go in and place the order for carry-out, have a seat and a drink of pop or water, and they will either call your name or bring your food to you when it's done. Allow for a bit of a wait here and all is good; the food is better and more of a value than that "other" taco place anyway. I would like to see an updated interior (a bit run down inside, but usually pretty clean at least). I also wish they had a "sauce bar" like the newer locations do. Other than those minor gripes, this is a solid place for...
