Rita's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Rosenberg

Looks like they have a funny guy on the waitstaff. I came in by myself for a quick dinner. I first asked the waiter about the daily specials. I had been here once before and a different waiter was very pleasant and courteous, fully explaining the specials without me even asking. Today was a different story. Everything was fine until he brought me my Caldo de Pescado. He used a derogatory Spanish term when he put it down in front of me. After he left my table, I looked it up and it is a nasty word. So, I ate my meal and eventually asked for the manager. I explained the situation and she smiled, offered an apology, but nothing else. I’m sure she asked the waiter about it, because he came over and made up a story about what he said and he was, “sorry that I heard something different.” Well, sorry, but there is no way to misinterpret what he said. The soup, by the way, is supposed to be one of their specialties, as explained by the waiter I had on my first visit to Rita’s last week. It was very average - just two pieces of tilapia in an average broth with some cabbage and green beans. I’ve had similar soups at other Mexican restaurants that have been far better and for less money. So, Rita’s, I will never be back and I advise everyone to seek food elsewhere. Last night, my family and I came to Rita's for a birthday celebration, all was fine until I request a to go container for the remainder of my meal. I ordered the fajitas for 1 because that's my go to in Mexican restaurants I also orders a side of shredded cheese and sour cream. As I was emptying my dish into my container, I noticed a susceptible black object in the bottom of the shredded cheese. I took my fork to see if I could pick it out when it started MOVING. There was a baby roach in the bottom of my cheese. I called the manager right away he took the cup observed it for a long time and says he will be back and never returns. The waitress brings my tab and tells me that the manager approved one meal to be taken off the bill. It was my meal but the cheaper me. That's an INSULT to a customer who has just found a live bug in their food. FYI I will be reporting this incident everywhere I can. Please save your money and go elsewhere unless you don't mind having bugs in your food with a side order of being ripped off. I DO NOT recommend this place. Oh and as we are walking to our vehicle, the size of the roaches having the dance party outside in their parking lot was quite the scenery. If the roaches were outside and in my food, I'm certain they are other places in that establishment. Clean...

We came to eat at this restaurant on Saturday because we were told it was a great restaurant. We decided to give it a try and to say it was pretty disappointing is an understatement. First of all, they brought our food less than 5 minutes after we had ordered. We couldn't believe they had made that food in such a short period of time. We said, there's no way this food is fresh and that was exactly the case. The chicken fajitas were not only cold, and I mean cold as if they were in a refrigerator, but also hard. You couldn't bite or chew it. The rice was also cold and dry. I called the waiter and asked him why our food was so cold and he said that it probably got cold from the kitchen to our table. His exact words after saying that were, "that happpens sometimes." (The worst excuse I've ever heard in my life.) We told him we were not going to eat it because everything was cold and hard. He said he would call the manager and the manager never came. The waiter just brought our bill and said have a good day. We left our food there, paid for not eating it, and left.
