BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE FORCES ENTIRE PARTY TO ORDER ALL U CAN EAT

Went to this establishment 12/29 and 1 out of the 4 in our party ordered off the regular menu vs the ALL YOU CAN EAT. Went back the next day as we had family in town and they wanted to try the sushi. We were taken to our table and the entire party (5 of us) were given each an all you can eat menu and the regular menu. 1 possibly 2 in our party were NOT going to par take from the all you can eat. The waiter came by and took our drink orders and brought them out to us. Stepped away and returned to take our orders. We informed him not all in party were going to partake in all you can eat menu. He stated it was managers policy that the entire party either order from all you can eat or regular menu. Explained to him that had not been the case the previous evening. Waiter stepped away and returned with the owner. She (the owner) stated if 1 person wanted all you can eat, then the entire party had to par take in all you can eat. Explained to her we had visited establishment previous night and 1 in our party had not partaken with all you can eat. She said if we wanted to do all you can eat, we all had to order it. Explained to her that was bad business practice and horrible customer service to FORCE the entire party to order the all you can eat. Her solution was to alienate the person who did not want to partake with all u can eat, by separating our tables, and having that person dine alone. She could have cared less and was demanding we tell here who our waiter was the previous night. We refused to tell her and she stated "I'll find out anyway." Please bear with me as I vent my frustration. The service was sooooo slowww, I absolutely hated it. They took so long to get an order I had placed with the rest of my party at the very beginning of our time, we went with AYCE. We had came in around 8:10 or so, it wasn’t late at all. We all knew what we wanted and placed the orders together. My beef fried rice took more than 30 mins to come out while everyone else’s dishes already came and the rice was cold!!! I wanted to eat it with their hibachi steak because the steak comes with nothing. The steak was cold too and the salmon sashimi was warm😭 The only thing hot was the edamame across everything we ordered. After last call, everything I had ordered came at once and I couldn’t pace myself eating or enjoy the food. They also don’t allow take out so it was terrible. Side note: Our waiter wasn’t planning on telling us about last call or getting our last orders in until I called her over 3 mins before the time😩 This was my fourth time or so visiting and it’s usually only when we have extra funds because mind you, they’re expensive and for no reason. I will tell you this: they don’t want you to eat and they don’t want to serve you! The fact that everything speedily came out after last call showed their selfishness. I don’t really do reviews, but I felt compelled to do one here. After moving, my family was looking for a new sushi joint. We tried several in the area that were…okay, but not fantastic. Then we tried the newly opened Sapporo and absolutely fell in love! We go at least once a week unless something comes up.

I could go on and on about how, time permitting (e.g. when they’re not super busy) sushi is often served on unique platters with very aesthetic arrangements. I could also comment on the homemade soy sauce they make which adds a unique flavor to certain pieces. All in all though, the main sticking points are that the quality/portion size of the sushi is phenomenal and the professionalism and service from the staff is fantastic.

Sapporo not only replaced our previous favorite sushi haunt, but even went and raised the bar one step higher (while simultaneously being a little cheaper - win, win).
