I haven't had such a horrible customer service experience in many many years; especially not face to face. The woman at the counter who took my order had absolutely NO sense of urgency, her attitude was deplorable, and beyond that, she got my order COMPLETELY wrong and I'm truly unsure how. I used to manage a Starbucks kiosk inside of a grocery store when I was in my early 20s, and was a customer LONG before that (they do serve more than just coffee...) I am very well versed in ordering beverages and how to say it so when the barista is writing on the cup the words are in the order of the boxes. Hot/iced, then size, beverage name (latte, macchiato, americano etc.), followed by flavor, add ins and the rest. If someone says a grande iced latte, light ice, irish cream syrup, and whipped cream, the outcome should be an iced latte with light ice, a flavored syrup added, and whipped cream on top. How that turned into whatever they charged me for and made me; I've no idea. But the bonus stars I was supposed to get for ordering ANY latte didn't happen, because I was charged for something else which due to lack of a receipt I don't know. Now after she argued with me that it comes with foam not whipped cream I should have been alerted to the error but since she was as warm as an ice cube and friendly as a rabid bear I said I must have forgotten and to go ahead with the foam. She then informed me that it was going to be awhile because they had to make the sweet cream, which I said was fine, so I went to wash my hands. When I came back the guy working the drink creation put my drink down with not so much as an acknowledgement of it being a customer order and I asked if it was the iced latte with irish cream syrup. He looked at it then at me and dripping sarcasm said, "Yeah..." I thanked him and asked if I could get a straw even though it had a sip lid. "You realize we're discontinuing the use of straws on drinks with a sip top lid." He said caustically and tossed the straw on the counter. At that point I got mad, " And you if course realize that it's really hard to use a sip top lid with a facemask on." I took my drink and walked away. When I took a drink I thought I'd gotten a cup of iced dishwater. There was no irish cream anything, and "sweet cream" must mean rancid milk because that's what it tasted like... I'm going to be contacting Starbucks AND Kroger directly concerning this transaction because this isn't an acceptable way to represent...
Read moreAt this location, Raquel, the manager? wanted to charge me an extra dollar to have my half and half heated before it was added to my Americano. No location I have gone to has ever done this. When I asked about it and shared this with her she said well that's the way we do it here so that's the way I'm going to do it. She was very rude and imperious in her attitude. When I asked to cancel the order, she seemed defiantly happy to do so, and I calmly let her know I would be entering a review about this location. As I stood making the review she began making a coffee for me and called to me to take it. Then she chased me wanting to know why I was still doing a review. I told her because I had already wasted 5 minutes of my time working on a review that I should not even having to be writing. She and the other woman smirked at each other she walked off. Hey, all I wanted was a cup of coffee not all this drama and gouging. Very un-starbucks-like treatment here. Knew it was a bad idea to go to a Kroger's Starbucks. Lesson learned. Go to the...
Read moreThis Starbucks cafe inside the Kroger store recently switched (in April 2022) to become an official Starbucks Cafe. This means that aside from paying with your Starbucks card, you can now place mobile orders through your Starbucks app for pick up in-store. They make delicious beverages! Coffee is always good and fresh. And they also have most of the sandwiches, bakery items, and protein boxes that main Starbucks cafes carry. There is a dining area where you can sit and sip. There is a free wifi courtesy of Kroger, and the store bathrooms are a short distance away. I love the extremely competent and friendly workers, Raquel and Josh, the master baristas! And they have new baristas who are nice and helpful as well. I love that Starbucks is inside Kroger as it’s a twofer deal: coffee first, then...
