IN DEPTH REVIEW + Recommendations Credibility: I have worked as a server and a bartender for over year at a moderately priced restaurant with great standards for service. I've gone to Texas Roadhouse since 2021. I'm very understanding of the service industry. You can look at my other reviews if you'd like.
Service: The service is poor, and usually is. The servers are running around because it's super busy, and that's not the fault of the servers. When servers ignore customers and play around with the other servers, that's where I find a problem.
Tonight, I went to the restaurant around 8pm. Our server tonight was Aaliyah. She was super nice at the beginning and I was super impressed. After she took our entree order, she disappeared (felt like 20min). I ran out of my drink after about 10min and was waiting for our server. I realized that she wouldn't be back for a while, so when another server came by, I asked if I could get another drink, but I saw he was busy, so I asked if he can just let our server know. We realized our other order never came by, and when we tried to ask for help, everyone just passed by (because it was super busy). She still never went by our table after that.
About 10 more minutes pass, and I finally find our server- she was laughing and relaxed with the other servers at the POS system, and when I tried waving for help, they looked and ignored (unless they just didn't see us).
When she finally came by, I asked (because I wasn't sure) "We're you the server talking with the other servers just now?" and we told her the situation, and she became very defensive and blamed us for not asking the other servers for our order that never came and also blamed the server for not calling her to our table. As a former server, it's not the guy's fault because he is not responsible for our table, and it's not our fault because she neglected our table for almost 20min, and to find her playing with her servers was very disappointing because I was giving her the benefit of the doubt since it was very busy. (Checking on the table every 5-10min or having someone do that is a good rule of thumb). I still tipped but only 15% but most people would have tipped less or nothing at all.
Our server becoming defensive and blaming everyone but herself is what prompted me to write this review.
Food: The food is always pretty good. The bread is soft.
Overall: This restaurant has great potential, but the servers ruin it unfortunately. While I love the food, I don't think I can come here again due to the poor service. I hope this changes in a couple years.
Places I'd recommend instead: Chili's, Live Oak Grill, JINYA Ramen Bar (my former place of work which always has secret shoppers reviewing their service for...
Read more2nd update: apparently I am a slow learner and don’t read my own reviews. Went again for my birthday and specifically asked the hostess NOT to seat us in the bar area. So when we had waited about 15 minutes they call our name and take us to….you guessed it the bar area. I said to her “I told you I DIDNT want to sit in the bar area to which she replied “oh yeah. You will have to wait in line again for another table.” 😡 I should have walked out right then but as I stated I learn my lessons slowly. The food was fine but the music was so loud it prohibited normal conversation. At one point when I thought it couldn’t be louder they cranked it up for their obligatory server dance where the employees look like their heart is just not in the dance. Can’t say as if I blame them. I think I speak for many fellow patrons when I say let them do their work in getting food out. Their entertainment skills are not what we came for. Let’s see if I can remember my own review and never go back. Update: I chose Texas Roadhouse to eat at for my birthday because of the great meals I had there. Big mistake. First off we waited more than usual about 20 minutes for our table. That's okay it seemed busy no big deal. When we finally got paged we walked over to the hostess station where absolutely no one looked up to seat us. Then a hostess just takes a taped piece of paper and starts walking away without even making eye contact or saying anything. I told my husband do you think she wants us to follow her? We went ahead and followed and were seated in the bar area where there were three men shouting at each other to talk over the loud music dropping some f bombs every other word. I asked the hostess if we could be seated somewhere else and she said no and we would have to go back to the end of the que if we didn't sit there. So we sat. At this point I didn't even want to eat. Our server came by and at least she was friendly. We told her we weren't happy and she went and got the manager. The manager came over with a sour face and said she would move us to a different table but if we weren't satisfied with that we would have to go to the end of the que. She treated us like we were difficult hard to please people and I was just waiting for her to roll her eyes to match her tone. We were moved to a table outside the bar area and were happy with the table. The food was fine but I don't think I ever want to go back to that location let alone on a special occasion. Itwas very busy but we were seated quickly and our server was great. The steaks were actually tender and flavorful and were a decent price. I love the rolls and we were given plenty without asking. The sides could use a little work. Overall a great...
Read moreOutstanding To-Go Experience at Texas Roadhouse – Rosenberg, TX
I would like to take a moment to commend the Texas Roadhouse location in Rosenberg for delivering not only an excellent culinary experience, but also what can only be described as customer service at its finest.
Recently, we placed a to-go order that included a rack of ribs, two loaded baked potatoes, shrimp over rice, and fresh salads. From the moment we called in our order to the final handoff, every detail of our experience exceeded expectations.
First and foremost, the food was exceptional. The ribs were perfectly tender and flavorful, embodying that signature Roadhouse taste we’ve come to love. The shrimp over rice was seasoned beautifully, moist and satisfying. Both loaded baked potatoes were hearty and fulfilling, generously topped and cooked to perfection. The salads were crisp and fresh—clearly prepared with care and attention.
However, what truly set this experience apart was the remarkable service we received from a young lady named Sidney. From the initial phone call, Sidney's tone was warm, professional, and genuine—something that’s increasingly rare in fast-paced food service environments. She confirmed our order with clarity and courtesy, and when we arrived to pick it up, she personally brought the food to us with a beaming smile and an infectious energy that instantly lifted the atmosphere.
Sidney exemplifies what customer service should be: gracious, attentive, and full of pride in her work. Her natural kindness and professionalism made the entire experience feel personal and meaningful, and she handled our order with the same care and presence you’d expect at a fine dining establishment.
In my opinion, current management at this location should take special note of Sidney. She possesses the rare combination of charisma, competence, and courtesy that can elevate not only a guest’s individual experience, but the morale and performance of a team as a whole. If she is not already in a leadership or training role, she certainly deserves to be. Her potential to inspire and train others in the spirit of excellence is clear.
Texas Roadhouse is known for good food and good times—but it’s people like Sidney who create the kind of memorable service that keeps guests coming back. She is a shining example of the Texas Roadhouse brand and everything it represents.
Thank you to Sidney and the entire Rosenberg team. We’ll...
