Don't know if it's just me and I'm out of touch, but the Rosenberg Salon pricing is pretty ridiculous. I felt robbed after getting my mothers hair done at this JC Penney's Salon. My mother's hair is short in length, so I normally wash her hair myself since she's a senior and can't do that for herself anymore. However, yesterday, I decided to take her into the salon to have it professionally done which she was super excited about. Prior to going, I called another JC Penney's for a price estimate for a wash and roller set and was quoted $30 with for a basic stylist and $50 for a master stylist, with other amounts in-between if I go with someone between basic and master. I decided to go to the Penney's salon closest to where my mother lives, thinking that the pricing would be uniform, and I was floored after getting the bill. $65 for a wash and roller set. Based on that pricing, the lady that did my mothers hair must have been the owner of the salon. (Sarcasm, of course!) In addition to that, the stylist talked her into a hair cut after I left, which was supposedly to even out the sides because one side was slightly longer than the other side. So, the dinged me for an additional $35 to cut her hair (even though haircuts run $20+). Also, the stylist recommended a special $30 conditioner, which I'd agreed to before I left my mother. Today, my mothers hair looks no better than when I do it myself. It's just shorter, from the haircut we didn't even want. Overall, I feel they took advantage and was just about making as much money as they could. Unfortunately, since I assumed all JC Penney's salon pricing was consistent and I did not confirm the pricing for this specific location, I had to pay what they requested. However, for anyone reading this, I highly recommend you go to another location for your salon services. This one clearly is not about the client, they are just about how much money they can put in their pockets.

Best silk press I’ve ever gotten done, I love how my hair looks and feels! I needed to book an appointment as soon as possible and the JCP salon was able to schedule me in a timely manner for the next day. As soon I got there, Diedre (hair stylist) started immediately with the necessary shampoo/ conditioning + blowout + cut/trim. I presented a picture of a hairstyle I wanted and Diedre did an excellent job to match it. My hair was done by no more than an hour and half! I received compliments soon as I stepped out the door! My friend thought my hair was a wig lol! I will definitely be returning here for my next appointment ā¤ļø

I tried so many hairstylists but I wasn't happy with the outcome. I have been looking for a hairstylist that is close to where I live. Today I got canceled for my other appointment and I found Ms. Deidre at JCPenny. At first, she was unsure if she can do my hair because she have customers waiting and I don’t have an appointment. I was patiently waiting for her because and luckily she called me back and she did an amazing job on my hair. I highly recommended trying her service.

I scheduled an appointment with the JCP Salon online for for a 7pm appt with Quinette Smith & I left a note online requesting to come earlier if any openings came up. I had not received a response, so I arrived around 6pm just in case there was any option of starting early. To my surprise, the salon was CLOSED, LIGHTS OFF, NO ONE TO SPEAK WITH! I went to every register awaiting to speak with someone to question what was going on, but each register had at least 2 people in line ahead of me. By the time I go to the car, I called the general number and asked if the Salon was closed indefinitely. The person who answered the phone put me on hold so she could check. After she returned to the phone, I explained how I had made an appointment online and she replied the salon closes at 6pm. I then explained to her that the online appointment was made for 7pm. She put me on hold again and returned stating there was a family emergency so the salon closed early. I asked why I wasn't contacted and explained that it was unprofessional not to communicate with patrons in these situations. She replied stating "that's not my department, so you will have to call and talk to them". I'm shocked at the unprofessionalism all around at this point. Is there only 1 person working the salon? Was a manager not informed that the salon was closing early so the appointments could be checked/rescheduled/etc? I hope this review helps others understand that they should not expect decent service at...

Two days ago, I went there for a haircut. I really didn’t like the haircut at all. The person who cut my hair seemed like a beginner with very little experience. An experienced barber knows exactly how to cut hair properly, but I wasn’t satisfied at all. Still, I didn’t say anything at the time.

However, this morning I noticed something like a fungal infection on my scalp. It was quite intense, and when I touched it, it felt clumpy and came off in pieces in my hand. That’s when I realized that not only was the haircut done by someone unskilled, but the tools they used probably weren’t clean either.

I will definitely never go back there again. It was not a good experience for me, and it’s the first time I’ve ever encountered...
