La Bou Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Roseville

I appreciate a nice sandwich and have tried a number from different chins and hole in the wall Delis. I had high hopes for La Bou, but unfortunately I might have had too high of expectations.

I placed an order for a wild Alaskan salmon sandwich with avocado and was told that it was smoked salmon. When I got it, the piece of salmon did not taste like salmon and was very dry. The meat itself tasted like chicken and the sandwich was missing the avocado.

I wanted to play it safe and so I just placed a new order for a classic smoked turkey sandwich, feeling that you couldn’t go wrong with a smoked turkey with avocado. When I received it, the sandwich was dry and the bread and sandwich were falling apart with just holding it. There was hardly any turkey and I mostly just tasted the lettuce and tomato.

I asked for some Sriracha to give some flavor but even then, the lettuce and tomato dominated the taste.

I left feeling that I should have just gone with Quiznos. However, I really appreciated the ambience and the AC, but unfortunately, I wont be...

Extremely disappointed in the management running this facility! They screwed up on a transaction and because they messed up I couldn’t get my food! Any other place because they made the mistake would have given the food that was already made and sadly used up my lunch hour dealing with them not being able to fix their mistake. I am incredibly upset because after speaking to my card’s customer service hotline I come to find out because La Bou’s clerk kept constantly trying to run the card after cancelling the original transaction instead of just finishing the 1st transaction and then doing a 2nd transaction, my card now has multiple non-completed pending transactions which won’t fall off the card for 7 days (per my cards customer service)!!! La Bou has stated it will be cleared by the end of the day so they gave out the wrong info as well. You were my favorite restaurant to go to for lunch but the way that you handled things today unfortunately I will not be...

We like some special things at La Bou. I ordered the peanut noodle salad. Have to get a sliced French baguette with special dill dipping sauce. Got the sliced beef sandwich (all the sandwiches here are good, so are the soups). There are several things to drink here but the favorite here on a hot day is the mango tea, or apricot tea. For cold days it is delicious heated in the microwave. For desserts, they have many.. We got the very moist and tasty apple cake, you have got to try that! Give this place a try; great freshly made fast food if you are in a hurry. Or bring some friends or a book and rest for awhile. Nice and friendly staff. As you leave you can buy packages of coffee, treats, special crafts like knit hats and fan for a good cause. This La Bou was the best one...
