This is my second time here at SoHo. I went once last months for the first time and everything was great! Itâs not the cleanest inside but the food was good so I decided to come back. Today it was a whole other story. I had reservations for a party of 5. Once we arrived we were seated promptly. Iâm surprised it wasnât as busy inside. Once seats we were given menus then a woman came and asked two of us what we wanted to drink they said waters and she just left and got everyone waters when we returned. I asked her for a sprite and she made a face. Itâs not my fault that she didnât ask for what I wanted in the beginning. After we ordered our Teppanyaki chef came about 15 minutes later. During that time they sang happy birthday to another person at a table and gave them an ice cream with a candle. Once the chef got to our table (I didnât catch his name but he was the younger white dude with a beard ) the first thing he did was repeat our orders then ask if there was any celebrations or birthday. We all said yes to a birthday and pointed to the birthday girl. He started making the veggies then began ranting about his personal life. The only trick he did was the flaming volcano for about 2seconds and that was it. Behind us another table had Chef Tim (I got him last time and he was a 5/5! Put on great show) and that chef was doing tricks, interacting great with the guests and everything. I asked our chef if he was going to do anything like that and all he said was no because he didnât want to clean. We all got the upgraded garlic chicken fried rice for $3.00 a plate but they put NO garlic in the rice this time at all. The food was good and tastes up to par. Throughout the whole time cooking the chef was venting about his personal life going through a divorce, family health issues and etc. I understand we all go through things but to guests that you are cooking for is not the right audience. I really liked this place the first time around, the 45 minute drive was well worth it. I was extremely disappointed this time around. I will not be coming back. If you do come here avoid this chef and just wait and get another one. Keep in mind there is an 18% gratuity added to partyâs of...
Read moreI feel compelled to share a very strange and uncomfortable experience I had with this restaurant. I work in hospitality and just experienced one of the worst customer service moments Iâve ever witnessed. Dave, the host who greeted me when I walked in, was extremely abrupt, rude and snappy to me for just asking if there was a table available for 7 people. I understand it was a walk in and last minute, but being told âNo. we arenât taking youâ without any context or even a simple polite greeting is not customer service. âWe arenât taking youâ?! How do you say that to a patron wanting to dine at your restaurant? Not even a warm welcome or a smile. I then asked when next available seating was and told ânope, not servicing you. We are closedâ when the restaurant was clearly open. After I looked around he said âwe stopped seating at 7:30â (it was 7:40) with a very stern and negative delivery. I donât get it, all I did was walk in and ask if there was anything available for my family and kids and received one of the coldest responses Iâve ever experienced. Dave is not an example of customer service, nor should he be representing this restaurant and its brand. I hope someone is able to give him this feedback so he can learn from this as we all have âthose momentsâ or bad days, but this is just something I canât stomach for not being addressed. Especially with a restaurant that has such great reviews and ratings. I hope management can give him this constructive feedback so he doesnât degrade or make people feel so unappreciated just for wanting to be patrons at an establishment that has the online ratings it does. Unacceptable, unprofessional and discourteous. Best of luck to his ability to simply be a better human. And hopefully just chalk it up to a âbad dayâ because we all have those moments. With much love and respect from a fellow hospitality...
Read moreAs we all google our restaurants, I did. I was planning a fabulous night for my daughterâs birthday. She loves Soho in Ranch Cordova this place she frequents. Itâs so far for me so I found the same company in Roseville they had their menu online and had the exact same items⌠I made reservations. We got there and begun to order⌠no they donât have same itemsâŚnone of what We wanted did they have, no party boats no crystal balls, no oyster shooter, no oysters. Half the selection of sushi. And it was so dang hot inside and then to be seated at a hibachi grill ugh. I felt so disappointed. The fact that the place does not update their menu website it was like a bait and switch. I even left a message on the answering machine that I wanted the big party boat. And when they called back no mention that they donât have party boats. The sushi rolls all tasted the same. I recommend the Soho in Ranch Cordova for a sushi experience. The Roseville servers were very pleasant in Roseville. The hibachi chefs were fun and pleasant too! If you want hibachi the food looked ok. One in my party had ordered that and he said it was ok. I think some decor change, a good scrub, and update the menu online so you know what your getting would be good. Air conditioning is a must, make sure to check to see if they have ac. I hate to leave negative reviews. I think this place has tremendous potential. The prices are good, service is good. Ice tea for 4$ is insane and itâs just plain ice tea lol. But knowing what your getting is hugeâŚI wouldnât say donât go here, donât go by the menu online and they said the restaurants are Soho 1,2 and 3 that would also be helpful so you can go to the restaurant that Serves...
