Decided to blow off some steam after a long hard day of work and went to the Red Robin in Roseville, MI for dinner. Was greeted with a very friendly hostess and got seated in the bar area where we requested to be seated right away. The waitress came around very promptly and took our drink orders. We then placed our order (Simply Grilled Chicken Sandwiches one with fries and the other with onion straws) and also ordered an appetizer (pretzel bites with yellow mustard). Over twenty minutes later, both the appetizer and the food arrive at the same time. Here is where everything went wrong. First of all, an appetizer should come out before the meal so you can enjoy it separately and as a lead up to the main course. Next, no yellow mustard. I asked for yellow mustard again. On to the sandwich issues. We ordered grilled chicken sandwich which comes on a bun. We got deep fired breaded chicken wraps. Okay simple mistake - lets get it corrected. I again asked for yellow mustard. Away the food goes hot fries and all leaving us with a basket of pretzel bites with no yellow mustard. And we wait and wait and wait. Eventually the manager comes by with the right sandwiches but no fries or onion straws. She said they are coming as they are remaking them so they fresh. Minutes go by and the waitress brings by the fries and onion straws and again I ask for yellow mustard for the now cold pretzel bites. After the waitress leaves I take a bite of the fries and they are ice cold and taste as bad as cold fries do. These were not freshly made but appeared to be the same fries and onion straws from our wrong order. I finally got the yellow mustard and ate my appetizer with my meal with cold fries. Never did the waitress stop by our table while eating but she did service a table next to ours bringing out food, refilling drinks, and never looked our way. I am very disappointed with today's visit. I am surprised that the manager did nothing other than bring out the corrected sandwiches. At a minimum, she should of checked on us a second time to make sure all is right. It wasn't right at all. Maybe your experience will be different when you eat here. I for one am not coming back to this particular location. I will visit another Red Robin further away as at least at that location, I have always gotten...
Read moreI try not to leave negative reviews here because every place can have an off day. However, we stopped visiting this location a couple years ago because there always seems to be some kind of problem. The only reason we visited today was because our children's school was having a fundraiser. Our visit started with us arriving at 6:45 and having to wait more than 30 minutes for a table for a party of 5. This was despite almost half of the tables didn't even have people seated. I know normally Tuesdays are slow for restaurants but management should have staffed up knowing about the fundraiser and been ready for a busier than average Tuesday. After ordering it probably took another 20 minutes for our food to hit the table, which wasn't awful considering the wait we already had. The problems here came when two of my children were served mac and cheese that was still in the plastic bag that it comes frozen in. Not only is that the fact of the cook who put that in the service window, it's also the fault of the food runner who brought the food to the table. My wife also complained that her chicken wrap was served room temperature. The last issue came about 15 after being served. Our waitress came by to ask about refills for anyone. My children asked for refills on their mac and cheese as well as more fries. The mac and cheese took another 15 minutes but we were waiting for fries for over 20 minutes. Maybe we'll try this location again in another couple years to see if management has gotten any better, but in the meantime we will continue to drive out of our way to visit the location on Hall...
Read moreMy wife and attend this location frequently because it is close by and has a good food selection. I’m only giving three stars because the experience you have at this location depends on the server you get. There are about 5 super awesome servers that make our visit fun and relaxing and I always try to sit in their sections, but not always an option. The food at this location is good most of the time, but not 100% of the time. Again, if you have one of the good servers the food comes out great. It comes out great because if it doesn’t look good to them, they don’t bother bringing it and make the cooks remake it before you even know it wasn’t made properly. The good servers ask you if you’re a rewards member. The rest of the servers don’t bother to ask and i always have to remind them. Lastly, we were sitting on the bar side a few weeks ago and we saw the waitress drop the ice scooper on the dirty floor. Then she picked it up and put it right back n the ice without rinsing it off.
The pros - good variety of food, clean facility, a handful of above average servers that make the dining experience great, good quality of food and prices are fair.
The Cons - Bathrooms need a facelift so they look fresh, clean and more modern. There are many servers that need more training to make the dining experience better. All servers should ask for rewards number from customers. Glasses, dishes and silverware are dirty and you have to request new ones. Sometimes...
