Checked out the new store today in Roseville, Mi. (Macomb Mall). For a home decor theme, this store needs some professional help organizing its products! The isles do not flow and are going opposite directions making it difficult to really look around and having to skip isles to get to another. The shelving in the isles is very high as well...to high to reach products and to high to see where other product isles are. (Claustrophobic) Displays are unappealing to the eye and it is kind of a mess! Products are sporadic on shelves and the store is not fully stocked but just spread out to fill space. I went to look for a comforter and assumed it would be by the beds...nope! Had to go through a maze of many zig zag isles to find them. 4 isles of comforters all of which had the same prints and the sizes were so mixed up. Totally frustrated and uninspired, I found nothing and all I wanted to do was leave after browsing about 1/2 the store. I felt like I was in a corn maze trying to maneuver and because isles are every which way, one cannot clearly see signs of where general themed items may be. I was in the store about 40 min and did not see a single associate on the floor to ask for assistance of where products may be or asked if I was finding everything, needing help etc. Customer service was non exsistant. I will not be back. Bummer because I really enjoy home decor shopping. This store brought me anxiety instead of creative...
Read moreI’m incredibly disappointed with the way The Home Store handled a serious situation involving my daughter. While shopping, she stepped on a piece of broken glass inside one of the aisles that went through her shoe and injured her foot. Accidents happen — I understand that — and I remained calm. Employees came over quickly, but not once did a single person offer an apology.
After I bandaged her foot, I proceeded to the register and politely asked if, given the circumstances, they could offer a small discount as a gesture of goodwill. The cashier stepped away to ask a manager, who very bluntly and immediately said NO — no explanation, no empathy, just no. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable. Even a small 10% off would have shown some sense of accountability.
What made things worse was calling afterward to speak with someone about the situation. Not only did they still fail to apologize, but they also refused to provide a corporate contact number and instead directed me to a website, with no real support or guidance.
This has always been one of my favorite stores, and I’ve spent quite a bit of money here over the years. Sadly, I will not be returning. It’s disheartening to see a company value the dollar more than basic human decency and customer service. A little humility would have...
Read moreAt Home is a great alternative to stores like Target when you need something in a different/larger size (like a bath mat), something that other stores don't sell ( a kitchen sink mat) , and variety of rugs or runners for a hallway. One of my favorite things to buy from this At Home store is the "Sands" scented candle! This is the 2- wick candle. They have a larger one, but I haven't found that one at the At Home store I regularly shop it. I use this one in my 2nd bedroom, & the scent even travels out into my hallway. for $10.00, this candle is good value for the money, IMO. I love it. Also, being an At Home "Insider Perks" member makes returning/exchanging items so much easier, & you get a coupon on your birthday. This is a very large store, & it can be challenging to find the item you need, but anytime I've asked a store associate for help, they've always given friendly, excellent...
