The Grand Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Roseville

We have been going to this restaurant for the past 2 years. During each of the visits, the food has always been the highlight of our experience. However, I could not say the same for our most recent visit. As usual, i called the restaurant to place a order for pick up. I was greeted by a woman who was pleasant and took my order. She told us it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. When we arrived to pick up our food, there was a line and the front staff was on the phone. Another staff spoke to my husband but didnt give him the food. She then asked me why I was there. After reiterating our order, she handed me my order and asked me to wait to pay. When we arrived home, I witnessed that there was no salna and raita to pair with the chicken dum biryani. I called the restaurant to complain and they told me to come and pick it up. We declined since it was past our dinner time and drive would take another 25 mins. I made raita at home and we dive into the food. With the first bite, we realized the chilli chicken was too sweet. After tasting the biryani we began to question if the management or the chef of the restaurant had changed. The food tasted nothing like before. The south Indian flavors we loved so much was not longer present in the food. The biryani masala was completely different. It lacked in spice and tasted sweet. The set of parotta with the mutton curry was also disappointing. The parotta was dry and hard and the mutton curry also lacked spice. After spending more than $50 for our dinner, we were utterly disappointed. It disheartening since this was our favorite indian restaurant in the Roseville area. It will be a very long time before we come back to...

Ok...first I was going to give this place a 5 star rating after eating here yesterday. The food was so good....i did not look at the receipt...I just took it and left and threw it away.

My daughter asked me today if i would take her here...so i began to read some of the reviews only to see they are purposely stealing from people...and charging extra fees..like a 3.99% fee if you use a credit card...but they add it to your bill even before asking you how you are paying. Unless you read the fine print on the front page of the menu before you go...you will never know to bring cash.

I knew to pay with cash because I came yesterday. The guy did not even ask if I was paying card or cash...and still he charged me a credit card fee....look at my receipt..Then...while I was at the register...he tried to bribe me to leave a 5 star review to give me a 10% discount...that he already added to my bill unwarranted.

If you want to come to a business that steps from their customers...come here. I hate liars and thieves. They literally are thanking their customers by being sneaky and charging us additional fees...if you do not look at your receipt...you could miss this.

I will pray to the Lord about what they did to me and He will use His power to stop them.

It is no accident that the Lord sent me here...people never know who will come to their business...big mistake stealing from a child of God...

This was the best Indian food we've ever had! We travel all over the country and most Indian places lack depth of flavor. This was vibrant and full of spice and flavor. The Chettinad style was amazing and my new favorite. Our server, Kamal was attentive and informative . He made the meal even better.

We went with the Samosas, which were incredible and served with mint chutney and coconut chutney. The Meduvada (dal donut) was my new favorite appetizer. It's a soft lentil donut with a crispy exterior and amazing sauces. The Mysore Masala Dosa was insanely huge and flavorful, stuffed with potato masala. We could eat those daily. The Chettinad veg biryani was next level good. Packed with flavor, spice, and veg. We also tried the Ghee porotta, which was tasty like a flatbread croissant. Everything came with several chutneys, including tamarind, raita, sambar, and more, which were all so rich in flavor. The quantity was amazing and prices were a great value for the quality of food. Don't miss the mango Lassi and the cold coffee! We can't wait to come back...
