SHORT VERSION: Pricey. Great fries. Coke products. Burger was OK, but not great, and a mistake in prep made it impossible for me to enjoy. LONG VERSION: As you may recognize from my reviews, I love burgers and finding new burger places to try is always fun This place looked promising, even tucked away in an odd corner of a strip mall. It's apparently a chain place, but not one I've run across before. I ordered one of their specialties, a Double Bacon Burger. As always, because I have a fairly violent allergy, I asked for it without onions. The receipt reflects my request clearly, which I think is great. I added on fries and a drink (they have Coke products, which is my preference). Cost? $22 after tip. That's a little steep, even around here. They gave me a cup to get my own soda from a fountain on one side. That's all good. I sat near there as well. The restaurant is on the end of the strip mall, so the seating is in a long corridor-like shape around the order counter and food prep area. That's always a little awkward (and I did have another customer run into me as she passed), but I sat away from the traffic aisle and it was okay. The counter guy brought me my food and it looked good (see photo). The fries were right out of the basket, hot, and properly salted. Not fresh cut, but good. So good that I only got about half of them in the photo because the rest of them were already in me. Then I went to take a bite from the burger and chopped white onions fell out. Bad news. Bringing it back to the counter, it took a couple minutes to get someone's attention. He told me he'd take care of it and took the whole tray (including my fries) while I went back to my table. Less than a minute later, they had the tray back. They took the top bun (with the sauce and onions) and maybe the lettuce leaf off and put a new top in its place. That's poor form. A severe allergy can be triggered by food traces, and there were still pieces of onion stuck to my food. But I really wanted to like the place and it cost me enough that I was unwilling to ditch it and grab a bite at a drive thru, which would have been smarter. So I cleaned it off better and ate it. It was decent, but the bacon was a little stringy instead of crisp and I was paranoid about there being more raw onion chunks, meaning I was inspecting every bite. I occasionally still tasted onion. Not enough to set off my allergy, but enough to keep me from enjoying the burger. It could be a good place. The fries wee on point. The basic burger was good quality. But between the price and the mistake, I'm unlikely to come back. There are a lot of other burger places to try near here. One last note: I sat near the soda fountain. There are no trash cans. I watched other patrons stand and look for where to put their trays. One put hers in the order pickup area and the other left theirs on the table. I left mine, but then saw trash cans and a tray collection near the front door when I left. Sorry to whoever had to clear my dishes.

First and last time coming here. Came in on a Saturday lunch. Ordered a classic burger, cod sandwich, a regular fry and (supposed to be O-fries) full fries. No drinks and this came up to $22 plus change which seems pricey to me. The food was quite tasty in all honesty. The burger and cod were well cooked and juicy. I just don't think it's worth the price and the wait! There were 3 staff with no sense of urgency. I worked in food service back in the day and when it's rush time, you pick up the pace. Did not see that with the staff. Maybe the staff were relatively new and inexperienced? If that was the case, management needs to step in. Also it looked they could have used 1-2 more staff and some clear organization. I could see them rotating from cash register to making food to handing out orders. Gloves were NOT changed out in between. In retrospect, we should have walked out for that alone. So lastly, as one staff bagged my order, I noticed two fries going into the bag so I looked at my receipt and saw he (same staff member took my order) put full fries instead of o-fries. It was loud in the building and wearing masks makes it difficult to hear and I do clearly remember having to repeat "O-fries" to him. However when I pointed out the mistake, he immediately fired back that he repeated the order to me and I agreed to it. I was taken aback. I swear I didn't express even an ounce of rudeness to him to warrant this reaction. Maybe he was having a bad day? So for that, plus the waiting, the prices, I really dont see a reason to come back.

So Meal 1: Chicken tenders kids meal, a lil disappointed in the size of tenders they looked like boneless wings that's how small they were. Originally we asked to upgrade to a chicken sandwich but it wasn't an option. Upgraded the drink for $1.99 to a milkshake, but it didnt taste good it had a powdery taste to it. Meal 2. Was a buffalo chicken sandwich, tasted good but the bottom bun was soggy, I also asked for a side of buffalo sauce and they said no and gave me buffalo blue cheese instead. Meal 3: The Philly burger, my friend said it was pretty good, but wished it was a lil bigger for the price. Service: Our cashier overall was pretty patient as we took a moment to decide. Although we had taken off an order of fries and their was technical difficulties that needed manager over ride, but the manager opened new register and said shed reimburse me in cash after the line was cleared. She reimbursed me for fries and then gave us an xtra burger for on the go, and a sorry for the inconvenience. Overall their customer service is an A, but their food was just okay, which is why we decided on 3 stars.

I haven't eaten at Wayback Burgers before so I decided to place an order because the wait was 15-20 minutes. After completing the order I was told it will be 45 minutes.

I called (within 30 seconds of confirming and paying for my order) to cancel because I didn't have that much time to wait. They didn't even start cooking my order yet so obviously I did not think there would be a problem getting a refund. Well, I was wrong.

The person I was speaking to told another employee to not make my order. He then said he was going to talk to his manager. A moment later he told me to "cancel it on the app."

I asked; " Are you saying I need to download a Wayback Burger app to cancel my order?"

He replied, "Yeah, like your bank app. Just cancel it and when the bank calls us we'll confirm it so you get a refund."

What an absurd suggestion. Obviously, I'm going to dispute the charge, but it's highly unlikely that my bank will reverse the charge since I did place the order. Wayback Burgers literally stole money from me.

Obviously, I would highly recommend to never give this place your business and I can guarantee that I will never visit one of these places under any circumstances in the future. Whoever owns this place should be ashamed that their management operates like this. What a joke.

Edit: I just them another chance and I regret it so much. We ordered 3 meals and all of them were made wrong. I could barely find the place because they have no sign outside and no lights were on inside other than in the back of the kitchen area. Clearly they didn't want customers going inside.

Again, 3 meals were ordered, we were missing an order of fries, both burgers were made completely wrong, missing ingredients we wanted and they somehow added ones didn't want. Luckily, the fries they did provide were so horrible that we threw them away, so I guess we didn't really miss out on the missing order of fries. In any event, we'll never go back and I highly recommend that whoever is reading this...

This is one of the worst places I have ever been to eat in roseville. If you have the option to eat somewhere else- there is no reason in this world you should choose here. First, starting off with the service, I place and pay for my order online. Pickup time said 7:09. I get in late at 7:40. I walk up and they say “oh I already made the order and gave it away, I would know because I made it” I said well that wasn’t me so it needs to be remade I have the order number. Well they were looking around and finally found it on the system. The manager with big eyelashes says they have to still MAKE IT. I ordered 4 items. Each item online you get to order a sauce with it. After they brought me my food after an additional 15 min wait, I looked in the bag, they forgot all my sauces- I didn’t even feel like asking so I just said get me ranch because I was already annoyed at this point (I had ordered way back gold sauce & chipotle sauce that they forgot) I also noticed they forgot my onion ring- if I walked out without checking it would have been money right out of my pocket. Then I leave and when I open all my food I notice my cheese fries do not match the advertised description on their menu. My fries only had bacon and cheese- menu said it would have ranch and scallions as well- so that was annoying I didn’t get the full product. Then My burger was so soggy after 3 min (I took a bite in car) that the bun fell apart in my hands. All in all, this place sucks from service to food. Food is so bland it’s terrible - so terrible I literally threw away everything but the sandwich because i was so hungry. Trashed the chili fries, cheese fries, and onion rings - they...
