Smokin Glaze BarBeQue — Restaurant in Ross Township

Wanted to do an update - We ordered rib tips and ribs for a graduation open house and everything went over very well. We asked for the ribs to be cut into 1 bone pieces, which they were in order to make it easier to serve to guests. We will definitely keep them in mind to use them for other catering situations as well.

We went in and ordered the large rib tips, brisket sandwich, a polish, large Macaroni & Cheese, and a large baked beans.

Yes, you can eat the tips without sauce. Coleslaw had a hint of vinegar and wasn't dry, I'm thinking it will be a great palate cleanser for some fatty pieces of BBQ. Fries were almost a seasoned type, which gave it a nice crunch. Beans had meat in them, hamburger I think, and were sweet. They were a little over cooked to where they were very soft, but that didn't detract from the flavor. The polish was flavored very nicely with the grilled onions on top. The brisket was just okay. The meat was smoky, and you could taste some seasoning, but as another reviewer stated, it's definitely better with the sauce. The BBQ sauce was good, it's got some celery seed in it so it's got small bumps of flavor that explode as you crunch into them. They have a hot and a mild BBQ sauce, the mild still has a small amount of heat to it, so people who think white bread is pushing the spicy limit may want to steer clear. Service was stellar. Last but not least, the Macaroni & Cheese. Honestly, my inner beast came out after taking a single bite and I had to go in and buy three more large containers to go. Yeah, say what you will, but I don't care, it was good.

Go visit this place! The owners, a husband and wife team, both work there and are engaged and interested in the business. I hope you go and see the same charming, friendly people that I met and are able to enjoy the same or better great food that I had. ...

I can't believe I wasted my money on this trash! The people giving this establishment high ratings must've been paid for their testimony. I bought a 1/2 slab and 2 small tips with a side of mac and 🧀. The tips were average, thinly cut, not worthy of high praise, the Mac and cheese was thick, pasty, and didn't taste cheesy at all! No flavor whatsoever! The 1/2 slab...OMG...I wouldn't give to my worst enemies dog. I couldn't even bite into the meat. It was too salty, and the sauce on the side still tasted like an amateur cook made it. You see...I forgot that I bought food from them a couple of years ago and didn't do a review then, of which I should have, but when I got my food through door dash and went back to Maps and saw the picture of the establishment is when I had a "Doh!" moment, so yes, shame on me & they won't get me a third time. Moral of the story don't have your food order delivered from any establishment when it's close to closing because it's a convenient way for them to push out poor quality food "scraps" out to the consumer. 2x in a row I've had a horrible food experience with these people, so I question the validity of the high ratings. STAY AWAY! unless you're on some get back for someone you don't like at work or if you need to get rid of pests in your yard, then go ahead and buy their horrible food. I guarantee the person at work will either apologize for rubbing you the wrong way or hate you even more, and the yard pests will 🏃‍♀️ for the hills if you throw it at them! Don’t get me wrong Smoking Glaze BBQ is good but they are so SELFISH & STINGY with the meat like seriously. I’ve been coming here a few times and they piss me off everytime. Smh! I ordered a large tip dinner, they literally gave me about 8 pieces of tips and 12 fries. Like come on now!!!! That’s the only thing i don’t like. They are very good - very well seasoned and they sauce got better cause it use to taste like straight Cumin and Chili powder but they just real stingy with the food but high priced…. After today this my last time going to them because this is ridiculous. This is what a LARGE TIP WITH FRIES look like!!! NOTHING! And no I didn’t eat a fry nor did I eat a tip before taking the picture. This is what they gave me. And if I went in to get it I wouldn’t even have accepted this I would’ve asked for a refund because “What is this” 😒😒😒😒😒😒😒 NEVER AGAIN!!!! And this wasn’t my first time going here I been here a few times I don’t know why I play myself going here anyway. Hog Haven is way better and they give you more.
