Went here for my 7th-anniversary dinner because we weren't feeling being in the city. It was a great experience! Reservations are easy to obtain with times that are not too late, and as far as steakhouses around the Atlanta metro area, you get a lot of value for the prices. The ambiance gives off mid-century modern vibes. It's a smaller restaurant, but it does not feel crowded it feels intimate. It is in a strip mall area so there is plenty of parking, but be advised, there is no valet so you may have to walk a bit in heels ladies...I think the city socialite in me prefers valet options everywhere lol. I find that a lot of the "high-end" steakhouses that are new to the city are gimmicky and the gimmicks are there to serve as lipstick and rouge to make up for the adequate but not memorable food...however, this place is not that. It's a beautiful steakhouse where the main attraction is the food and cocktails.
Drinks: The glassware for the drinks is unique and sturdy and the cocktails are artistically crafted. Champagne and martinis come in 1920s-inspired champagne saucers which is a nice and classy touch. There are tons of fresh garnishes for all the drinks. During our short wait for our table, I enjoyed "Two Sides of the Coin," a beautiful and refreshing cocktail that was garnished with a hibiscus flower. My husband enjoyed his favorite drink, a slightly dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives (surprisingly blue cheese-stuffed olives are hard to find at a lot of places!). We also had glasses of processco and finished our night with espresso with our desserts
Staff: From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by very pleasant employees. The hostess escorted us to the bar while we waited for our table to be readied, and the bar staff was very friendly and nice making sure we were satisfied with our drinks after tasting them. When we sat, we had a very knowledgeable server with great command in his knowledge of the menu.
Food: We started off with the broiled oysters as an appetizer. The oysters were fresh, flavorful, and not overdone or over-seasoned like some places, that add too much cheese or accouterments which can take away from the oysters' flavor. We are big on seafood so this was important to us. As steak lovers, we were interested in several cuts so we settled on the steak tasting for two which included a 6 oz filet, 3oz wagyu strip, and 8 oz spinalis. The wagyu is to die for. It's as if a steak and a stick of butter had a baby. Packed full of flavor, moist, soft, and decadent. The spinalis was a new cut for me and I enjoyed it more than the filet, but be advised, EVERY cut in the tasting was phenomenal. Our sides were the broccoli rabe and the seafood macaroni and cheese. The sharable sides were very plentiful and flavorful. For dessert, we ordered two espressos and had a campfire cake with chocolate ganache and the creme brulee. The staff had chocolate happy anniversary signs placed on each dessert which was a nice touch.
Overall, this will be one of my go-to steakhouses when I want to do something fancy that doesn't require me to go to the city. It's a wonderful hidden gem.
Summary: A wonderful hidden gem. Excellent steakhouse with a lot of value for the prices, easy reservation options, and beautifully crafted drinks. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. A great place to have a romantic dinner or to bring friends who...
Read moreI kept hearing great things about this place. I finally made it across GA 400 to try the place out.
We started out with a carpachio, it was really good, delicious. Loved the little pickled pellets you'll see in the photo.
Then, we moved on to the rabbit pot pie. Very good flavors. But a little too smoky, the smoke was so overbearing it took away from the rest of the dishes vegetables. The breading you'll see in the photo was cooked perfect. The sauce was a little on the peppery side, black pepper, a little less black pepper, a little less smoke and it would be perfect.
Next was the Caesar salad O. M. G I was so happy to see white anchovies. That's what Caesar is supposed to actually be made of. Unfortunately, in the United States, you mostly see the Brown ones that are very salty and they have the little bony pieces in them, that's why most people don't like it. The white ones are delicious if you've never had one give them a try, this salad was the best part of my dinner.
Moving on to our main course, we shared the bone in ribeye, 20 oz. Basically, the cowboy cooked perfect. We asked for medium-rare plus they nailed it. Great job there. Good flavors on the meat itself as well.
For our side, we had cream spinach. This is where it just fell apart. I don't think the spinach is fresh actually. I think it's frozen. We both felt that way, that's a big x, but then they use cheap bagged parmesan. Look at the photo that's not fresh grated. What an insult to everything else in that restaurant being so high level to just go cheap on cream spinach. I would burn that recipe and start over with fresh ingredients. We had to send it back because it was too salty. The salt in the cheese was overwhelming add to that the salt that was probably cooked into the dish. In today's high salty foods, need to be careful with salt.
Our server was great. I would say she's a server slash bartender, and I had my doubts that she'd be able to cover the tables as well as her bar duties. But she nailed it, she was hustling, very polite, very nice and friendly, enjoyed her and thank her for her great service.
Our dessert was delicious, really good. I love the ice cream. I don't know where that came from, but it's good.
Would I come here again? Probably not. There are so many great steak places in and around Roswell and Alpharetta that are better, quite frankly. Maybe I'll just come get some white...
Read moreWent for a Wine Tasting and Stayed for dinner. First, the Atmosphere: Super nice, decent-sized bar, dark like a typical steak house but new and elegant feel. The Wine Tasting was in the bar area where the is a long banquet with high tops and chairs. Nice set up. Good presentation, two gentleman, good tasting pour sizes, and nice varietals. The 'small bites' were too small and too much seafood for a steakhouse. Also I noticed that many of the apps are seafood forward too (5 out of 8 apps are seafood) - this seems to be a common theme in nicer restaurants, though not sure why since it is a steak place. Not one chicken thing. (They did have a duck entree - not a duck fan.) I am allergic to crab so I could only eat 2 of the 3 small bites and husband doesn't eat seafood so he could only eat one. I wouldn't do more than 1 seafood bite due to allergies...would do 1 seafood, 1 chicken (yes, chicken, and 1 beef or pork)...actually the bites were WAY too small and with the large pours, I was tipsy and had to order an app and then we went in to eat. The fried Rock Shrimp app was absolutely delicious! But $25 is too much for this app. I know, Rock Shrimp are more expensive and it was a good portion, but still - crazy expensive! So we went in for dinner (it was on a Wednesday so there were plenty of tables)...I had a smoked Old Fashioned and they had to smoke it twice and let it sit...the smoke does not come through unfortunately. We got a salad and a large filet. It was good but not the best I have ever had. We also got the corn and while it is a large portion - enough for 4 people - it was $14. I know that's what you pay in these types of places. Since I am not a leftover kind of person, I think the best way to dine here without spending a fortune, is to share everything: 1 app, 1 salad, 1 steak and 1 side. It is always too much food anyway and then you don't have to try and heat up an expensive leftover steak! Go once for sure and I would go if friends wanted to go but we wouldn't go back...
