Very Disappointing Experience Under New Ownership
As loyal patrons of Deccan Spice Indian Restaurant, we were disheartened by our recent visit under the new ownership. What used to be our go-to destination for flavorful Indian cuisine left us with a bitter taste in our mouths, quite literally.
Despite ordering our usual favorites, the quality of the food had plummeted. The once succulent chicken dishes now arrived chewy and tasteless, leaving us questioning the freshness of the ingredients. It was evident that the food lacked the care and attention to detail that we had previously appreciated.
To add insult to injury, our experience with the beverages was equally dismal. The Rose Milk, a refreshing indulgence in the past, was nothing more than a lazy concoction of cold milk hastily mixed with Roohafza syrup. Such shortcuts in preparation not only compromise the integrity of the drink but also reflect poorly on the management's commitment to maintaining standards.
In essence, the transition in ownership has led to a significant decline in both the quality of the cuisine and the overall dining experience. It pains us to say that we will not be returning to Deccan Spice under its current management. We sincerely hope that the owners take heed of the feedback and strive to restore the restaurant to its former glory. Until then, we'll be seeking our Indian culinary...
Read moreWe wanted to try Indian food in Alpharetta, and this restaurant had pretty good reviews, so we thought of trying it out. However, the restaurant did not live up to it. The food was underwhelming. We ordered paneer butter masala, malai kofta, chicken biryani, naan, and onion kulcha. The taste was average. The dishes had a lot of gravy and hardly any pieces of paneer or kofta. The onion kulcha, the priciest of their breads, was falling apart. Looks like their cook didn't know how to make kulcha as it was stuffed with way too many onions and couldn't be held together in the bread. The taste was even worse. It tasted mostly like turmeric. If you are looking to get a good biryani, this is not the place to go. The menu had an entire section of South Indian dishes that weren't available. Apart from the food, the ambiance was dry, and there were only 6 or 7 tables in the large space of the restaurant. The paint was coming off near the booth we were seated at. The service was okay. They were courteous, and the food was brought in a timely manner. The menu had prices striked and hiked up on the side. I guess they forgot to strike out the dishes they weren't...
Read moreExcept Mix Veg Pakora, please do not order anything! Very mediocre food and ambience. We ordered mix veg pakora, samosa, mango lassi, butter milk, Andra veg korma (because the insisted) garlic naan
Samosa were frozen and then deep fried so inner layer was undercooked and stuffing was cold. Who adds onion in buttermilk? It was raita diluted with water and that also warm!!! Horrible Mango lassi was made with corn flour to add thickness and was not worth buying. Veg korma was very runny and was overloaded with coconut oil which made it extremely unbearable to even eat! The naan were also very thin and were served to us from someone’s order who must be running late to pick up as they were all stomped and flattened. Even complaint rice we cdnt eat. In short only thing eatable was the mix veg pakora. I am not planning to return to Deccan spice any time soon. PS . They did deduct the sabji and buttermilk amount from bill. But we left the naan and lassi too. Anyways something better...
