I actually think that this new location is easier to access and exit than the old store. Or, at least, you have more options. With that in mind, ATL (and Roswell) drivers are incredibly inconsiderate and selfish...most will not let you out into traffic, so you have to gird your loins and punch the throttle. But none of that has a thing to do with this KK.
Clean, open, bright store. The bathroom is nice, although I'll be surprised if it is still nice after the sheen wears off and the employees settle in. For now, the staff is nice and efficient, although I did park and go into the store to ogle the goods. Krispy Kreme and Subway are two places that you shouldn't complain about glacial service in the drive-thru.
The angled parking spaces on the Mansell side are narrow, as if they were painted by an elf with a paint brush in each hand. The parking lot is roomier than most in the area and navigation isn't hazardous, if you are half-ass paying attention.
Even though the glazing conveyor belt is in plain view behind the cases of 'nuts, the selection isn't what I expected. Specifically, I was pining for blueberry cake donuts, which I was informed are seasonal items. WTH!? This was one of my wishes that arose from the move from the old location, that the new store would have a better selection of classic KK varieties. No dice. I had to complete the loop and go to the QT and settle for some glazed blueberry fritters.
While I'm kvetching, 99 cents for a glazed donut approaches sublime inanity. You could get a McDouble for that much loot. I realize that there are quantity discounts, but it's damned unconscionable that a single, solitary glazed donut...
Read moreThis place has serious issues with how they handle food. I stopped by for National Donut Day on June 7, 2025, for work and immediately noticed that the staff wasn’t prepared for the few customers they had. However, that wasn't my main concern. My biggest issue arose when one employee….who was very nice and wearing gloves…grabbed a customer’s phone to read their order. Right after that, he took my cash and went straight to adjust donuts on the conveyor without changing his gloves.
I discreetly pulled him aside and told him that I wanted to cancel my order and get a refund because of how unhygienic that was. While he was processing the refund, I worried about how the manager would react. The employee mentioned the situation to the manager, but shockingly, the manager didn’t make him dispose of the contaminated donuts. That was a significant mistake regarding food safety.
The risk of cross-contamination in this situation is high. Phones and cash are loaded with germs, so when an employee touches those and then handles food without changing gloves, it's a recipe for trouble. Consuming food treated this way could lead to foodborne illnesses, which can range from mild stomach issues to serious health problems requiring medical attention.
It was completely unacceptable for the manager to allow contaminated donuts to go out to other customers, knowing there was a food safety issue/ breach. This shows a lack of concern for customer safety and adherence to health regulations. Honestly, I was disappointed with the employee, but how can he learn when the manager doesn’t prioritize...
Read moreThis place is legitimately filthy and needs an inspection by the Health Department. We were there the morning of 12/2/23. We picked up and ate Elf movie donuts. There were only two tables available, and the chair I sat in had been shattered by a prior occupant but was still sitting there with jagged splinters sticking out of it. The tables and chairs were covered in black, disgusting slime. The floors were so slippery with grease that I actually made a video of me "moonwalking" in sandals, without ever picking my feet up. We left as soon as possible because of how nasty it was, but my 5 year old wanted to look at the "donut factory." Below said machine was a seriously inch-thick puddle of brown goo that I took to be maple icing or maybe batter, that covered at least 6-8 square feet of floor. There was also a pile of questionable icing shavings sitting on the ground under the end of the conveyor belt.
12 hours after we ate at that restaurant my kid had her first-ever serious stomach ailment. She vomited 8 times the night of 12/2 going into 12/3, then had diarrhea the next day. That's consistent with the infection cycle of norovirus, the "winter vomiting disease," and I am convinced she got it from that nasty table we sat at. Norovirus is transferred by the "fecal-oral route," which is even more disgusting.
There is no way this place would pass a health inspection. Don't get me wrong, I love Krispy Kreme the franchise, but this particular location needs to be raided by the Health Department right now. Do not eat here until they clean...
