I was on the hunt for a new latin restaurant in the area after the decline of Monterrey (if you’re a local, you know what I mean) and honestly this was such a perfect match! I ordered the cheese dip (full size) with jalepenos, the guacamole (full size) and a chimichanga with ground beef and refried beans on the side. The beans portion seemed a little small to me but it’s workable. The beans were excellent and tasted so delicious. The guacamole was standard guacamole which was another plus because some restaurants honestly don’t do it or charge extra to get tomatoes, jalapeños, onions, cilantro, etc in the guacamole. The guacamole wasn’t too chunky or too creamy but a perfect mix of cream and chunks. The salsa was also good but quite spicy, so if you’re not into spice then I don’t recommend it. The cheese dip was also really good. It does seem like there was maybe pickled jalepeno juice or maybe another pepper but it’s honestly so good with it that I prefer it now. The chimichanga, even though it is 1, it is quite big in size (in the picture, I cut my chimichanga about 1/4 so I still had 3/4 left and was saving for later). If you did want the dimensions, they told me it’s a 12 inch tortilla rolled. It didn’t seem so small, so im glad with it being 1 chimichanga because it makes up for it in size. Price was pretty reasonable for me due to the size of everything and considering there were no extra charges for something that’s just complimentary of the meal. Overall, the meal was great and stayed in pretty good condition (not too hot, got cold too quick or the moisture from the heat messing it up) considering I did do take out and still had errands to run. I highly recommend them if you are a local looking to replace Monterrey on Holcomb Bridge Rd. If you’re not a local, I still highly recommend them! Excellent service and the environment seem very cozy and made you feel at home. The staff was very friendly and although I didn’t get any drinks, they absolutely do look worth trying next time which I will definitely be doing...
Read moreUpdated Review with pics- 4/2021- The owner contacted us directly and was very sincere about making the situation right. She invited us to the restaurant to try their new Dragonfruit Margarita and enjoy a complimentary meal to make up for the issues and missed items from when we ordered via Uber. We had never been to the restaurant, only ordered delivery, and I must say the experience was very enjoyable. The drinks were so good, the food was so fresh and delicious and the service (from Mary) was great. We enjoyed chatting with Mary; She explained some of the reasons behind the mishaps that occurred when we ordered through Uber and also told us a little bit about the restaurants history. I would encourage everyone to experience an in-person dining experience here because while the food was delicious both via delivery and in-person, dining at the restaurant was such an enjoyable experience. Thank you to the FCG management and staff for reaching out and making things right. We’ll see you again soon!
Previous Review (2 star): We have ordered Togo food from here several times and every time there has been an item/s missing and of course it’s always the big ticket item. On two occasions that we called in to complain, during the weekend, we spoke with “Mary.” She wasn’t much help as she’s not a manager with any authority, and there was no other manager on duty or that could be contacted. The last time she took down our info and advised we would get a call back from a manager... never happened. Around 2.5 weeks later Paula (manager, owner?) left us a voicemail asking for us to call her so she could make it right. We called several times and could never reach her and never received a call-back. Truly a shame because the food we did receive was quite good. Poor management and lack of communication with clientele will negate the great quality...
Read moreDID NOT EXPECT SUCH AMAZING FOOD!!! walking in on a Thursday evening, we were one of only a few tables. Chips and salsa hit the table before I got back from washing my hands and HOLY GUACAMOLE. This has to be the best salsa I’ve ever had at any Mexican restaurant and folks, that’s saying a lot. The chips are extra thin and crispy but hold up well to the homemade, thick and SUPER DUPER flavorful salsa. It’s rich and spicy like I like, not that watery bland stuff most places throw at you. For entree I went very simple and basic…when trying a New Mexican spot I like to order simply, just to see what they are working with before diving into the more complicated dishes. Went with the chicken taco salad. The chicken was so moist and packed with flavor. They even served it with extra cheese sauce on the side…who does that?!? My heart melted. My friend ordered a side of the roasted vegetables…any KID would gladly eat these babies!! Roasted and seasoned to absolute PERFECTION. I had to restrain myself from eating her meal hahaha even if my meal was massive. I’m a big girl at 6 feet and couldn’t finish the salad. That says a lot about portions. The margaritas as freshly made with real lime and tajin rim!!! So good. Y’all, don’t let the outside or fluorescent lights fool you…this is one not to...
