I’m really bummed to say this, bc all the reviews have amazing experiences, but the food and service were not good at all. Way too expensive for the lack of flavor and taste. My fiancé and I normally go to Sushi Sumo in Alpharetta but we decided to try a new place with my sister and her bf. The only good sushi we enjoyed was the American Dream. The appetizer which was a bunch of fried stuff and lacked so much flavor I had to add a lot of soy sauce to it. It was super slow with it being us and 2 other tables. That being said, the redhead server took way too long to come to us and get extra napkins, miso soup, and the check when we asked. We had to ask the other female server that was there for it bc ours would go missing. Unfortunately I don’t know her name bc she didn’t give it to us in the beginning. Not very nice, quiet and didn’t go above and beyond. Not to be mention, the tiramisu my sister ordered was LITERALLY FROZEN. Cold to the touch and the texture was unpleasant bc it was very cold. The other dessert, they didn’t have, and yet again, took their time on getting it. At this point, it was just us at the restaurant so there was no excuse on taking so long. I usually don’t write bad and long reviews but I had to say something on here so the manager knows and other interested customers just as a warning. I hope it was a rare occasion and it’s normally good, but I will not be attending and will be paying for something more reasonable but way more valuable in flavor...
Read moreDecided to try a "new to me" sushi place for dinner with my husband this evening. The food was great, the service was great, the ambiance was great. Mika Sushi really deserves the 5/5 stars.
For an appetizer my husband and I both tried the Miso Soup: the soup had a good taste and came to the table nice and hot.
For entrees my husband ordered the Classic Tuna Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll. I personally didn't try either of these but his rating was 4 stars out of 5. I had the Signature Happy Roll. It was soooo good. I love a roll with mango in it, and this roll hit the spot! I give the Happy roll a 5/5. We both shared the Classic Spicy Bay Scallop Roll as well. This one was tough to rate because I didn't like the texture. My husband was not a big fan of the taste or texture either. He gave the rating of 3/5 for this roll.
Overall, we will most likely be back to try a few other hand rolls in the future. The staff were extremely kind and checked in regularly. The establishment was kept clean and had a good...
Read moreVery pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. We started with Calamari which is fresh and crisp. The portion isn't large overall but the slices are large. We had the Belly roll and the Mika roll. Both were very good but the Mika roll stood out as it was unique and crisp. I prefer raw sushi but this roll is great. We also tried their hand rolls which is something I haven't had anywhere else. Spicy tuna and smoked salmon were both very good. The prices are about on par with other sushi restaurants. Regular rolls start at $14 and go up to $20. Definitely can't eat here as an individual for under $20. Calimari app. 2 rolls. 3 hand rolls. Japanese soda. Large sipporo. Desert. All of that was around $95. Overall I'd definitely go back as they had some unique options and the quality was outstanding. The ambiance is quite...
